She graduated in June from The Excel Center Springdale with her high school diploma because she was determined to change the trajectory of her life for her daughter. Last week she graduated with her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from Goodwill Industries of Arkansas Academy and has a full time job in her field with benefits and a career path. It was an extraordinary evening as we had our second class of graduates from The Excel Center Springdale tonight. Seven graduates, each with an incredible journey of overcoming their obstacles and relying on hope to achieve their goals. Our keynote speaker, Carlos Garbutt, Director Arkansas 211/ Benton County Coordinator 100 Families, United Way of Northwest Arkansas, said, “Hope charts a path for you. Hope helps you stay on course. Today, we were so honored to have Dr. Charisse Childers, Director of Workforce Policy and Innovation from the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services, visit our Goodwill Training and Education Center (GTEC) campus in Little Rock. While here, she toured The Excel Center and The Academy at Goodwill Industries of Arkansas while visiting with staff to hear about the life-changing work we are providing to Arkansans through our educational programs.
