Family, leadership and team members gathered to celebrate Christian’s impact and contributions over the years. Goodwill NCW is honored to be recognized as a Gold 2024 Vets Ready Employer! Goodwill has a long history of supporting veterans and their families. When Goodwill was founded in 1902, its main focus was to help people who were newly arriving in the United States. That focus quickly shifted when our nation went to war. "Goodwill made it a core part of our mission to help the folks who had done so much for our country to reintegrate into the community and workforce," Chris Hess, President and CEO at Goodwill NCW said. "Anytime we can do something to help veterans, we feel compelled to do that and feel it is a unique part of who we are as an organization." Goodwill NCW was among 22 employers statewide to be recognized as a Vets Ready Employer for 2024 by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its Office of Veteran Employment Services (OVES).

The frigid temperatures have arrived in Wisconsin, and Goodwill NCW was happy to partner with World Relief Wisconsin to provide nearly 50 coats for children and adults who are newcomers settling into our communities. World Relief Wisconsin staff members Marlo Fischer and Serena Letcher expressed their gratitude, noting that the donations came at just the right time. Marlo said: “We are expecting a push of people coming in the next few months. About 400 people will need warm coats in good condition. We greatly value the partnership we've had with Goodwill over the years. The impact this will have on refugees and keeping them warm this winter is immeasurable!”

We are so proud of our own Sabrina K., Chief Financial Officer of Goodwill NCW. She received the Mentor Award at the Insight Publications 2024 CFO Awards. Through her leadership, Sabrina has not only strengthened our ability to advance our mission of Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment, but she has done so with compassion and commitment to our communities. We are so lucky to have her on our team.
