  • We organized our first event in Mumbai - a yoga session with renowned instructor Natasha Noel, exploring the synergy between fasting and yoga. We believe that these two practices are deeply interconnected, each enhancing the benefits of the other. Both practices involve putting your body in a "comfortably uncomfortable" state, becoming meditative once you commit. Our body is incredibly capable, but the mind often becomes the limiting factor. During the class, Natasha challenged us by having us hold poses for 10 counts, subtly slowing the count to push our mental limits. This perfectly mirrors the fasting experience - once you decide to enter that state of controlled discomfort, you reap immense rewards, but your mind becomes the primary challenge. The more you prepare and strengthen your mind, the more effectively you can engage in yoga and fasting. Both practices emphasize mindfulness, self-connection, and a deeper understanding of your body. Just as different yoga poses evoke various feelings, a five-day fast leads your body through a spectrum of experiences. These are natural emotional and physical responses to a prolonged state of deficit. Interestingly, the order of yoga poses in a sequence can evoke different responses - you might feel energized, calm, or even momentarily angry. Similarly, each day of a fast brings its own unique set of experiences and challenges. A highlight of the event was a powerful trust-building exercise. Participants paired with strangers, closing their eyes while being guided through the room - first by holding hands, then solely by voice instructions. This exercise taught us to immerse ourselves in the present moment, relinquish control, and recognize our tendency to control the uncontrollable. The event was a resounding success, with participants enthusiastically praising our specially crafted nut and seed bars. Most importantly, we successfully raised awareness about fasting and yoga, highlighting the profound connections between mindful movement and intentional nutrition. For us at Outlive, this event marks the beginning of an exciting journey as we continue to explore and share the powerful synergy between yoga and fasting.     Perseverance Pays Off Got this message from a mother-daughter duo who recently completed our 5-day program: "I lost 2.6kg and my daughter lost 3kg. Day 4, my energy shot up and I felt ecstatic!" Despite the challenges they faced, especially during days 2 and 3, they pushed throughwith incredible determination. Their journey is a testament to the power of mutual support and dedication —that's why, we emphasize having an accountability partner.
