Many new technical innovations wouldn’t move into production without help from funding programs like the Pentagon’s Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (#APFIT) pilot program. Developed to shepherd innovation projects across the so-called "valley of death,” APFT has already awarded 17 projects across two tranches in 2024 and will be awarding $10 million a piece to five new innovators in early 2025. “I talk to some of these APFIT companies, and they tell me it is utterly a game-changer for them,” said Heidi Shyu, undersecretary of defense for research and engineering. “It has helped them to break into the market [and] get into production, and now all the other services are banging on the door.” DefenseScoop: https://lnkd.in/dkESu8eY

It's an achievement to be able to name your tank, and there's a story and a deeply bonded team behind each one. #TankerCulture #RightofPassage
The actual star of the movie 'Fury' is the M4 Sherman of the same name. And why not: close-knit tanker crews name their vehicle as a point of pride in their battle skills—and out of respect for their home away from home. Task & Purpose: https://lnkd.in/gUAJkF5T
