Was tasked with the opportunity to design and deploy a 360 degree PA as systems engineer for Will Ferrell's Ultimate DJ House Party. This event was to raise funds on behalf of Cancer for College and took place this past Saturday at Chicago's Wintrust Arena. In the round performances included: Swedish House Mafia, A-Trak, D-Nice, Twista, and many others. This show presented several unique challenges in the lead up to deployment including the coordination of 38 audio points, an extensive multi-zone distributed Dante network, custom front fill fabrication to throw over a ground supported LED wall, and over 7000' of multi-pin ran over 200' of cable bridges. Could not have done it without the support offered from the fine folks at Gateway Studios & Production Services. Thank you to the brilliant engineering of d&b audiotechnik and DirectOut GmbH who constantly provide me with the tools that I need to succeed. And of course, endless gratitude to an amazing audio team who helped bring this monster to life despite long days, time constraints, and a fast paced show schedule. We did good work.

A pioneer in live production, he is renowned for his technical innovations, strong client relationships, and work with legends like Robert Plant, Dolly Parton, and Metallica. Conway McDonald-O’Lear is a vital member of our team — besides being the video crew chief for Phish, he is also one of our project managers, responsible for the planning and execution of tours and events such as Goose, BLXST, and Gov Ball. On top of that, he is also Phish’s on-stage camera operator, playing a huge role in delivering shots of the band from angles even the live audience doesn’t get to see. If you’ve seen a Live Phish broadcast, you’ve seen Conway and his incredible work. We’re lucky to have him here at Gateway. John Legend headlined a historic night at The Muny, marking the venue's first live concert in 30 years. Backed by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra before a sold-out crowd of nearly 11,000, Legend delivered a captivating set that blended personal stories with his greatest hits.
