As we wrap up 2024, we’re reflecting on one of our proudest achievements this year: Crafty’s $10M funding round, led by JLL Spark, with incredible support from Transform Capital, Interplay, Greycroft, Tribeca Venture Partners, Manifold, Bluestein Ventures , and Gaingels. 🚀 This investment propels us into a new chapter, advancing our mission to elevate workplace experiences. With 53% of U.S. employees now splitting time between home and the office (Gallup), the demand for solutions that make the office "worth the commute" has never been greater. The hybrid model, now adopted by 77% of Fortune 100 companies, offers promise but requires thoughtful execution. 4 years ago, when I joined Gaingels and the venture capital world, I knew no one. Today, as we enter 2025, I'm so grateful for the many amazing people I have met and become friends with through the Gaingels community! We have now reached 4,500+ members, 2,400+ portfolio companies, and 150+ VC partners committed to building, investing, and growing together. From socials in Aspen and the Hamptons to educational events in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London, we had more than 70 events in 2024 coming together to make connections, learn, and grow as a community dedicated to representation and access in venture capital! :) As we look to 2025, we are excited to bring more experiential engagements, tailored experiences, and new high-value programs! From early ventures selling Razor scooters to launching ID90 and the life-changing telemedicine platform MISTR, his work is fuel by a bold vision and commitment. But his vision didn't doesn’t stop there. Currently, Tristan is preserving #LGBTQIA+ spaces with ventures like The Abbey and Tryst Hospitality, ensuring queer institutions thrive for generations to come His advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is perfect for the year ahead: “Stay lean and mean as long as you can. Don’t give away equity too easily, and always be prepared for setbacks.” As we enter #2025, let’s focus on building with intention. I had the opportunity to attend the 11th Anniversary of the #WEDO2024 Summit last month. 🥳 It was such an honor to meet and connect with so many inspiring women who are playing a pivotal role in driving transformative innovations, from AI to blockchain and Web 3.0. Being part of these communities provides a unique setting to share experiences, spark innovation, bring the community together, and create opportunities for collaboration and partnerships... and that's exactly why I love attending. Events like these provide opportunities to learn and connect with so many brilliant, supportive, and driven women. Another day, another big milestone for Ecotone Renewables! Proud of the entire Ecotone team on our successful $3M Seed Round! We are excited to welcome expert hardware-scaling investors onto our investor team led by Earth Foundry. Judy Li and Sara Chamberlain are incredibly bright additions and excited to welcome Judy to our board of directors as well. Multiplying the impact of our seed round, I’m also excited to announce that we’ve been selected to receive $2.4M in non-dilutive USDA funding to deploy more ZEUS digesters and produce more local Soil Sauce fertilizer!
