The Fund is looking for external consultants to work with us on a brand refresh project. Having recently undertaken a Strategic Review process and a thorough Brand Audit, we are now seeking an agency to distill the key elements of these inputs into a framework that can reimagine our brand and unify staff around a vision for the future of the Fund for Global Human Rights. We welcome proposals from consultants based in the UK, United States, or anywhere else within +/- 5 hours of the GMT time zone. More information on the project and how to apply can be found in this document: https://lnkd.in/eEmE47i3

As we begin 2025, Fund staff share why they have hope for change, progress, and a better, fairer future in the new year. The most common refrain was a single word—Syria. Others pointed to important new conversations, emerging technologies and voices, and the power of people coming together as reasons for hope. Read their responses: https://bit.ly/3ZYBtPS

In El Salvador, Carlos* experienced near-constant discrimination at work because of his gender identity as a trans man. After years of harassment, he was fired without justification, throwing his life into turmoil. Activists from COMCAVIS TRANS—an organization supported by our Legal Empowerment Fund—stepped in, providing him with legal advice and human rights training. Empowered with knowledge, Carlos won a case against his wrongful dismissal, received compensation, and even became an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights himself. Help more people like Carlos live freely and equally. On #InternationalMigrantsDay, we stand in solidarity with migrants and the activists protecting their rights in the face of increasing threats and criminalization. Defending the rights of people on the move is not a crime. We all have the right to seek safety, dignity, and a better life. In Lebanon, where bombing has displaced entire communities, activists supported by the Fund are showcasing the strength of the migrants’ rights movement. They’re providing shelter and urgent support to migrant workers who have been barred from accessing public shelters. In their time of need, activists are stepping up. You can help migrants’ rights activists defend more people around the world today. Donate and your gift will be doubled, up to $100,000: https://bit.ly/49HEx7q

In Bataan, the Philippines, fishing communities are standing up against coal and nuclear energy projects that threaten their land, health, and rights. Through collective organization and legal empowerment, they are holding polluters accountable and demanding justice. Communities like this are reshaping the fight for climate justice and ensuring that those most affected are leading the way. 📽️ Watch the full video to hear their powerful stories: https://lnkd.in/e2hPfDrq #ClimateJustice #GrassrootsLeadership #LegalEmpowerment

What are human rights? Where do they come from? And do they still matter? Every year, December 10 — #HumanRightsDay — is a chance to reflect on the progress and potential of the human rights movement. The last year has been challenging in many ways. We’ve seen repressive governments come to power and act with impunity, states fail to act on climate change, and rights rolled back by hateful legislation. But we’ve also seen grassroots human rights defenders defying all odds to rise up for the rights of their communities. And today, we want to remind everyone why human rights are still worth fighting for. Check out our latest Fund 101 Q&A to learn more. Link in the comments 🔗

76 years ago today—#HumanRightsDay—the UN adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document that still inspires activists and movements worldwide, despite growing threats. Last year, we highlighted 5 demands that would help turn the Declaration's vision for a more just world into reality: - Defend rights defenders worldwide 🛡️ - Demand climate justice ⚖️ - Build a new economy that works for all 🤝 - Shift power to front line communities ✊ - Innovate for bold solutions 💡 These demands are more urgent than ever in today’s unstable and uncertain world, but activists are already leading the way. With your support, activists can protect rights and lives, end injustices, and push for long-term systemic change. Donate today and your gift will be tripled, so a $25 gift becomes $75 for free: https://bit.ly/41mOfKo

In September, a few donors, allies, and Fund staff visited grantee partners in Morocco. They met with activists supported by the Fund and learned about the issues that these groups and their communities face. Writer and Fund donor Jenny Fan Raj reflected: “My role as an ally feels small compared to the huge work these activists are doing, but it has galvanized me nonetheless. Our world can feel disappointing at times, but to be in the room with these activists is to be inspired by their devotion.” Check the comments for her reflections. 🔗
