𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟯 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 To mark the 3rd year anniversary of Footsteps Foundation, a new initiative was taken over with children of Project Ankur last Saturday. To celebrate, we partnered with Platform for Legal Awareness and Networking (PLAN) to host a unique event for our students: a cyber security awareness session. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵? In today's digital world, staying safe online is crucial for everyone, especially for vulnerable populations like underprivileged youth. Often lacking access to proper guidance, they can be more susceptible to cyber threats like phishing scams, online bullying, and identity theft. The session equipped our students with essential knowledge, covering topics such as: <> 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: What it means and why it's important. <> 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀: Common online dangers like malware, phishing scams, and social engineering. <> 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Creating strong passwords, being cautious about what they share online, and identifying red flags. The interactive session empowered our students to navigate the online world with more confidence and awareness. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 At Footsteps, we believe that education is not just about textbooks. Equipping underprivileged children with the tools to protect themselves online is essential for their future success. Krishna's story is a testament to the power of perseverance, a journey that began with uncertainty but culminated in a display of remarkable determination. The eldest of three daughters, Krishna's academic aspirations were initially marred by the turmoil of the pandemic. Her 10th board results, a reflection of those unprecedented times, fell short of expectations. However, amidst the uncertainty, Footsteps Foundation emerged as a guiding light. For the past two years, Footsteps has been a constant source of support for Krishna. Coming from a household where her mother, a domestic helper, shoulders the financial burden, and her father, lacking formal education, doesn't prioritize it, Krishna's journey could have been vastly different. But Krishna, fuelled by an unwavering spirit, refused to let her circumstances define her. With Footsteps by her side, covering her school and tuition fees, she channelled her focus into her studies. The results are a testament to her dedication – 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝟴𝟬% 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝘀! Krishna's story is a powerful example of how education can empower even in the face of adversity. Her journey, though with its share of challenges, now takes an exciting turn – she aspires to pursue a graduation in psychology. Pooja's story is a testament to the indomitable human spirit, a journey that began with uncertainty but culminated in a display of remarkable resilience. Pooja, a bright young woman with eyes full of ambition, faced such a hurdle right after her 10th board exams. The eldest of three siblings, the weight of societal expectations and limited resources threatened to extinguish the spark of her dreams. As the eldest daughter, and with a younger brother, the whispers began – 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Thankfully, she wasn't alone. Her mother, a pillar of strength, championed her education even amidst their struggles. Then came the intervention of Footsteps Foundation, a beacon of hope in Pooja's time of need.
