First Solar CEO, Mark Widmar, issued the following statement on the 2024 Presidential election: “First Solar congratulates President Trump on his election victory. We look forward to engaging with him, his administration, and Congress on a shared agenda to ensure a level playing field for American manufacturing and supply chains, safeguard American jobs, and win the energy technology race against China with American innovation. As we have demonstrated, American solar manufacturing delivers economic and strategic benefits, creating middle-class jobs in communities in Alabama, Louisiana, and Ohio and giving workers the opportunity to invest in their future. Our US manufacturing footprint is supported by an American supply chain. Miners in Wyoming, Utah, and Michigan, glass workers in Ohio, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, steelworkers in Ohio, woodworkers in Indiana, truck drivers, railroad workers, and many others around the country contribute to what we do. As we embark on this next chapter in our nation’s journey, we look forward to continuing to contribute to our country’s prosperity, competitiveness, and security.” https://bit.ly/4f9Z2eW

A "site" for sore eyes! First Solar is proud to work with partners like Verogy, who recognize the value of American solar manufacturing and how it supports domestic supply chains and America’s broader manufacturing base. Stay tuned to learn more about this interesting project! ☀
Our work to transform landfills into solar energy hubs is making great progress, including the near completion of our project in Deep River, CT. The Verogy team has remediated and capped a former 2.3-acre landfill, returning a once-contaminated site to productive use with a 675 kW DC solar installation. We’re particularly excited about our Deep River project because the installation is being built with First Solar American-made solar panels. In Deep River, we’ve installed more than 1,450 modules manufactured by First Solar in Perrysburg, Ohio. As we’ve designed and built projects across the country, we’ve been encouraged by the growth of domestic solar manufacturing. Panels built here in the U.S. not only create high quality manufacturing jobs, they strengthen American energy independence. We’re looking forward to energizing our Deep River project soon, with electrons flowing from American-made solar panels. #AmericasSolarCompany #AmericanSolar #InvestinginAmerica

Congratulations to Verogy on their #DeepRiver project! ☀ We are proud to be able to work with partners that understand the value of #ResponsibleSolar. Click through below to learn more about this project.
The Verogy team is nearing completion on our Deep River project, a solar installation located on a former 2.3-acre landfill. This underutilized parcel has been given a new lease on life as a 675 kW DC clean energy hub generating 100% zero-carbon, renewable power. We’re particularly excited to be installing First Solar solar panels at the Deep River project as they have the lowest environmental footprint in the industry. The modules boast a carbon and water footprint that is nearly 4X lower than other technologies. When energized, our Deep River project will generate 962,000 kWh annually, enough to power 89 average homes for a year! We’re always excited to have the opportunity to work with cities and towns in our home state and are proud to have successfully executed over 30 installations for municipalities across Connecticut. The clean energy generated in Deep River will benefit our environment while saving taxpayer dollars – a true win-win! #ResponsibleSolar

It's an honor to have supported our partners at Scenic Hill Solar as they celebrated Climate United's historic $31.8 million investment in Arkansas’s solar future. This is the first project financed by the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), a first-of-its-kind, national-scale program created by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This landmark investment will support pre-construction efforts for various solar installations featuring our US-made First Solar technology and it is expected to be the largest commercial solar deployment in Arkansas. Congratulations to all involved and the great state of Arkansas! Learn more: https://bit.ly/4fz6PCK
