Transforming lives one meal at a time. Serving El Dorado, Nevada, and Placer counties.
About us
Placer, Nevada and El Dorado Counties are some of the most affluent in our region. Hunger can’t be here, can it? It can and it’s called Hidden Hunger. More than 80,000 of our local friends, neighbors and family members don’t know where their next meal is coming from. It could be your restaurant server or grocery store clerk. The senior two doors down or the Sierra College student choosing books over lunch. If you lost your income tomorrow, it could be you. Hunger in our community looks just like...you. Hidden Hunger is in plain sight. Hunger isn’t going anywhere and neither is Feeding the Foothills. For more than 50 years, Feeding the Foothills has made meaningful progress towards ending hunger but our mission is far from complete. We continue to fill food pantries, send students home with groceries to last the weekend, and stretch every $1 of groceries to $8, thanks to our generous partners, volunteers and sponsors. And you know what? These donors in our community look just like… you. We have this unwavering belief that Hidden Donors can solve Hidden Hunger in our community. Every dollar donated becomes three meals for a neighbor in need, so $25 today means 75 meals tomorrow, $100 becomes 300 meals and so on. Join us in helping the Hidden Hunger in our community by finding the Hidden Donor in you. 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐜𝐤! Chuck has been with us for years and is a true asset to the Feeding the Foothills family! He loves teaching our orientation class, where he meets new volunteers and welcomes them on board. After 40 years in law enforcement, Chuck enjoys giving back in a whole new way. Fun fact: If Chuck could be any animal, he'd be a koala—super mellow and relaxed! Thank you, Chuck, for your dedication and service!
