“It’s not about red or blue. It’s about ❤️🤍💙💻” - Noreen M. Hecmanczuk, Digital Experience Advisor to the Federal CIO, The White House. Congratulations, Noreen, on being acknowledged for your work on improving governmental services through technical innovation and modernizing the functionality of government. We are proud to celebrate Noreen and the #WomenInTech who are making an impact today and every day. Thank you for your service.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to tell #WomeninTech at the Grace Hopper Celebration about my journey from a small Pennsylvania town to working at the highest levels of our #government. Everyone I met at #GHC24 told me they want to use their #technology skills to make a difference and deliver #impact. I told them there’s no better place to do both than by serving our country. In a 1986 interview David Letterman asked Grace Hopper, “What interested you in going into the Navy?” She replied, “Well, WWII to begin with.” He laughed, the audience laughed. Grace shook her head and said, “That’s one of the hardest things to tell people in our country. There was a time when everybody in this country all did one thing together…” I’ve had the honor of serving the American people across critical missions under six Presidents, three Democrats and three Republicans. Although I’m not sure who our next President will be, I know one thing for sure: the American people deserve a government that meets today’s expectations. We will get there faster when a #PatrioticPipeline of technologists from all across our country join us. It’s not about red or blue. It’s about ❤️🤍💙💻 Brenda Darden Wilkerson - Thank you for elevating the power of public service to the main stage. You understand the power of technology and technologists in delivering the modern government we all know is within our reach. Thank you, thank you, thank you. #GHC24 #CivicTech #PublicInterestTech
