We're sponsoring this year's ice-skating season at the Rotary Rink at Fountain Plaza! Come to the heart of downtown to skate for free all season long and enjoy free skate rentals every first Wednesday of the month now through March. Rahsaan DeLain, our vice president of corporate culture, helped to officially kick off the season this past weekend during the Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting at Rotary Rink! Rotary Rink is weather dependent, please call (716) 854-RINK to check the rink’s status before you come downtown to skate.

Thanks to these generous students from Hilbert College, who donated items to Evergreen’s housing program to help patients transition into new housing. We appreciate your support of these patients and our mission.

Emma Fabian, associate vice president of harm reduction and Sharon Yager, psychiatric nurse practitioner for Evergreen Health were honored as recipients of the Gold Key Awards presented by the Western New York Chemical Dependency Consortium (WNYCDC) at the annual luncheon last week. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Emma and Sharon!

Scott Community Service Award recipient by the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo. Tiffany, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! The award recognizes a person from a Western New York community of color who exemplifies a commitment to creating positive change in the lives of youth of color through community service, civic engagement or volunteerism outside of their professional position and honors Judge Hugh B. Scott, a founding member of The Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative (CGLI). Tiffany, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! Jonathan Evans, a student at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, pictured in the photo, was also honored as The Judge Hugh B. Scott Inspiring Youth Community Service Award honoree. Kim Brown, executive director for Community Access Services, recently participated in Buffalo Business First's 'Table of Experts: Diagnosing disparity in health care' panel alongside several other community organizations and foundations to recognize and address disparities in healthcare.   With the discussion led by John Tebeau, president and publisher of Buffalo Business First, Kim Brown explained how Community Access Services reaches out to Western New Yorkers directly in their communities to bridge gaps in healthcare and ensure access to quality and affordable healthcare in a setting individuals feel comfortable in, as part of Evergreen Health's goal to eradicate health inequities through unconditional care. Team Evergreen was proud to join harm reductionists from across the country at the second annual New York State Harm Reduction Conference this past Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22 in Binghamton, NY to connect, learn, and build power with community. Evergreen Health is proud to announce that Emma Fabian, associate vice president of harm reduction for Evergreen was named as co-chair of the New York State Harm Reduction Association at the conference. Congratulations, Emma! She also moderated a panel at the conference (pictured below) discussing how to keep harm reduction best practices and culture alive at organizations leading industry experts in an engaging conversation. Additionally, Ivette Chavez Gonzalez, Peer Outreach Navigator for Evergreen was a panelist at the conference (pictured) as part of the discussion on how to best support advocates throughout the state.
