🐑 Thousands of sheep are "mowing" the grass at solar farms across Texas—but why? Sheep are natural grazers that improve soil health, protect native grasses, encourage pollination, reduce emissions, and provide a new income stream for farmers. Enel North America will use over 6,000 sheep to manage vegetation on 10,000 acres of solar land a part of the largest announced solar grazing contract in the U.S. More details in this Houston Chronicle story: http://ms.spr.ly/6045oVzZP

Dear Santa, I've been good this year, putting hundreds of clean energy MW into the grid this year–and 1 GW of capacity is on the way 😋 I'd love a gift that shows my passion for sustainability, so here's my list. Wait a minute before you swipe. I know many of these aren't available yet, but for Santa nothing is impossible! 🎅 Sincerely, Enel PS: Let me know in the comments if you have other options, I am open to suggestions 😁

Our Aurora solar farm in Minnesota highlights the power of dual-use solar practices like growing native and naturalized plants at solar farms to support biodiversity and pollinators. 🐝 We don't stop there. Enel partnered with local company Bare Honey to create thriving habitats for bees and produce "solar-grown honey," combining our environmental sustainability efforts with community engagement. 🍯 See how environmental sustainability takes shape at Enel North America: http://ms.spr.ly/6043ozzd1

Landowners like Mick Johnson have helped bring the Cimarron Bend wind farm to Kansas, delivering lasting benefits to rural communities and farmers. 🧑🌾🌾 Mick puts it best: “What we’ve done here is good for the community and good for the state of Kansas.” What we have here is a win-win situation—supporting both local livelihoods and the transition to clean energy. PJM has sent a clear price signal to the market: demand response (DR) is key for grid reliability. And they are ready to pay companies to participate. In their last auction, pricing for 2025/2026 delivery year skyrocketed to record levels—creating the most favorable environment for DR participation in PJM in decades. Texas is poised to become the nation's solar leader by 2030. Yet with the surge of data centers, energy demand is skyrocketing. To ensure the Texas grid doesn't fall behind, this 2024 Enel has brought online more solar power through our plants: Fence Post (300 MWdc) and Stampede (326 MWdc). Moreover, we're finalizing construction on Estonian (263 MWdc), Ables Springs (186 MWdc) and Gulfstar (556 MWdc). That is more than 1 GW of solar power capacity on the way to keep the lights on in Texas and the ERCOT grid reliable among communities and businesses. #WeAreEnel

Sheep > lawnmowers. At our Blue Jay solar farm in Texas, around 275 sheep help manage vegetation over hundreds of acres of land. As our site manager Thomas Moon said: "From a sustainability standpoint, the idea of bringing sheep to graze the land was a no-brainer." KBTX Media came to our site to see the concept of agrivoltaics and solar grazing in action. Check out the full story: https://lnkd.in/etpGRSxX
