We all love to include our furry friends in the holiday celebrations, but not all Thanksgiving foods are dog-friendly! Here’s what you need to know to keep your dog safe during the holiday feast. 🐾 ✅ Safe for Dogs: • Plain Turkey (no bones or skin): A lean source of protein, perfect for your pup in moderation. • Sweet Potatoes: Packed with fiber and vitamins, but serve them plain (no butter or seasoning). • Carrots: A crunchy, low-calorie treat they’ll love! • Green Beans: Steamed or cooked with no added spices – great for digestion! • Apples (without seeds): A sweet, healthy snack your dog will enjoy. ❌ Unsafe Foods: • Onions: These can cause serious health issues, including upset stomachs and even damage to red blood cells. • Cooked Bones: These can splinter and cause choking or serious injury. • Gravy & Stuffing: Often contain seasonings like onions, or high-fat content, which can upset your dog's stomach. • Cranberry Sauce: High in sugar and sometimes artificial sweeteners, like xylitol, which are toxic to dogs. • Chocolate: Always a no-go! Even small amounts can be harmful and cause toxicity. Remember, if you want to share the love, opt for dog-safe treats or a small piece of turkey without seasoning.
