When the Morrison Hannah Chair first debuted in 1973, Knoll described it as “easy to live with and easy to love.” Today, this task chair continues to bring comfort and joy to any workspace with a remastered material palette and new upgrades, including a more supportive seat. Pop the bubbly! Our 21st annual Champagne Chair Contest, in partnership with Champagne Pommery, starts today. You know the drill: Craft a mini modern chair using a champagne cork or two – and enter for your chance to win up to $1,000 in prizes. For each entry, MillerKnoll Foundation will donate $50 (up to $20,000 total) to our nonprofit partner, Docomomo US, which supports the conservation of modernist architecture and seeks to shape vibrant communities around a shared modern heritage. Here’s how to enter: 1. Create a mini chair using only the foil, cap, cage, cork, and label from one or two bottles of bubbly. Design your own, or model one after a chair offered at DWR. 2. Take a photo of your design using a sheet of white paper as your background. 3. Post a photo of your chair to Instagram using #dwrchampagnechair, and follow and tag @designwithinreach. Or email your photo to us at socialmedia@dwr.com by January 7, 2025. Discover the moodier side of Danish minimalism. With a noirish undertone, a palette of blacks, and a sense of shrouded mystery, Camilla Stærk merges the drama and desire inherent in Old Hollywood films with the robust confidence of Danish minimalism. Born in Northern Ireland, Mary Little is a sculptor who makes forms by tailoring and sewing unbleached cotton canvas. Her ritualistic work, which includes making patterns, cutting the canvas, and sewing it into abstract reliefs, explores the interaction between light, surface, and gravity. DWR has specially commissioned six limited-edition artworks, each united by a sensibility of landscape – specifically, the Irish countryside where Mary grew up. Swipe for a peek at how the Plinth Tables from @audocph are made from the finest marble – including DWR-exclusive Grey Galaxy marble. First, expert stone masters carefully select marble with the best composition and veining. Then, the Plinth Tables are precision-assembled with mitered joinery for crisp, clean edges on all sides. The result? Exquisite marble tables, each of which is specially unique – like an original piece of art – thanks to marble's rich veining and inherent variation. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/emSr8kWs
