Each December, we just get together to hangout with food, drinks and socializing. No speaker, just a casual meet for the holidays. After serving as the leader and point of contact for DEFCON Group 940, I have stepped down and Sheldon Carmichael has graciously agreed to assume the leadership role of DEFCON Group 940. Rick Medina will continue as a cohost helping Sheldon run the group. It has been a great and fulfilling experience. Rebranded from The Pwn School Project Denton Chapter, in October 2021. The Pwn School Project was founded in July of 2018, and started the Denton chapter in August 2018. During the pandemic in 2020, we went virtual and once meetups started back in person, only the Denton meetings were continued. This was due to there being a thriving cybersecurity and hacker community in Dallas. Our meetings served as a way for people to learn of other groups including Dallas Hackers Association. Thank you to Sheldon, Rick, and Darin Fredde for your help over the years. Thank you to our members past and present, you were the why for founding and continuing to host the meetings each month. Thank you to the DFW community for supporting us over the years by speaking, attending, and sharing about us to others.
