My last two weeks were full of connecting with amazing people, listening to inspiring stories, and feeling a ton of gratitude! As part of the Women in Tech event at #a2Tech360, I joined a panel with Ylondia Portis, Christa Chambers-Price, and Jasmine Burns to talk about making mid-career pivots and the value of community support. The wisdom shared by my fellow panelists and in the other two panels featuring Maria Thompson, Cynthia Wilbanks, Alison Todak, Khalilah Burt Gaston, Kelly LaPierre, Ashanté Clemons, and Sonya Callahan will stay with me forever! A big thank you to Jennifer Hayman at Ann Arbor SPARK for creating this platform. Next, my fellow entrepreneurs Jessica Willis, Irene Liu, Sarah Beatty, Kaleena Eugene-Louis and I sat down for the #founders panel led by Alison Todak at #MITechWeek to trade founder stories, challenges, and hacks. Thank you to Michigan Founders Fund, Femology and Shine & Rise for bringing us all together, for the brilliant discussion Meagan Ward led with Melissa Butler, and for the impactful panel led by Kristina Oberly with the investors/startup ecosystem leaders. The grit and resilience among the Michigan founders community was palpable, and I'm so proud to be part of it! Last but not the least, it was SO good to meet friends and mentors - shout out to all of you for the little nudges (and sometimes big pushes 😅) , your advice, and really for just being there!!! Today's #a2Tech360 event, Invest360, brought together the region's best and brightest in tech innovation to pitch their ideas to a room full of peers and a panel of judges. Congratulations to this year's winners who each took home a $50k check! IT: Culturebie Mobility: Electric Outdoors Healthcare: Decimal Code In addition to their $50K earnings, Decimal Code was awarded the People's Choice Winner, earning them a total prize of $100,000!

We were thrilled to see that our founder Jasmit Kaur was just named one of 26 "top women to know in Midwest tech" by Purpose Jobs. We're biased, but we couldn't agree more! Jas "walks the talk" as a leader of a people analytics software company -- putting people she works with above all else. She motivates those around her to bridge the gap between employee experience initiatives and real business outcomes. An oldie, but goodie. We love this article from Harvard Business Review, which examines disconnects between actual and perceived strategic alignment throughout various levels of a business. The authors give great advice about how to best foster alignment, including weaving strategy into employees’ daily work, focusing strategy on driving customer value, and our personal favorite: implementing strategy through conversation – not through top-down orders. In the article, former Global Head and SVP - Energy & Resources at Sodexo Maggie Seeliger, MBA shared her experience: “Listening — not talking — to employees was the key.” Strategy is not announced. Hailing from Grand Rapids to Lansing to Ann Arbor, some of our team had the chance to get together IRL last night. We celebrated Culturebie-intern-turned-Library-of-Congress-fellow and MSU graduate (Emily Paterson, middle) and toasted a great first half of 2024. According to OSHA Safety Training Institute, 83% of US workers suffer from work-related stress. 54% of workers also report that their work stress then ends up impacting their home life. This excess stress can result in feelings of exhaustion and burnout, which reduce an employee’s overall productivity and efficiency. When an organization works remotely, it can be especially difficult for employers to detect these feelings of overwork and burnout.
