Shining the #YPSpotlight on Brenda M., compliance manager at Neighborhood Credit Union! She's been in the industry for 15 years. 🌟What is your favorite thing about working in the credit union? My favorite thing about working in the credit union is the amazing support and mentorship I’ve received throughout my compliance career. I’ve been very blessed to connect with amazing mentors who have provided me with compliance, risk, and audit opportunities. This environment cultivates a culture where professional growth and collaboration contribute to a mission that always prioritizes our member’s well-being. It’s very inspirational to me to be part of a team that values development and teamwork to promote a happy and positive work environment. 🌟Who is your role model and why? My dad is my role model. He has always demonstrated the value of a strong work ethic and taught me the importance of punctuality, hard work, and a commitment to quality. These are just a few qualities he instilled in me that I strive to incorporate into my life. 🌟What is your favorite place you’ve traveled? London has been my favorite city to visit. I was very impressed by its historic Gothic-style buildings, which are constantly and carefully being restored to preserve their original historical quality. There’s so much to do that you can never get bored! One of the highlights of my trip was fulfilling my dream of attending a live ballet at the Royal Opera House, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. What’s your favorite non-profit to support and why? My favorite non-profit to support during this time is the Humane Society of the United States due to its hurricane relief efforts to help animals. They have been working extremely hard to rescue many dogs, cats, and other animals from the recent Hurricane Helene disaster and are already executing rescue operations for Hurricane Milton. I encourage you to review their website and donate to their Emergency Animal Relief fund if you can. Sadly, many animals are left stranded or abandoned without any assistance, and the Humane Society makes all efforts to rescue them from natural disasters. https://ow.ly/oG7n50UahKr #CUYP #CornerstoneYPs #CreditUnions
