Today, I feel incredibly excited and grateful. This weekend, I traveled to Mexico City with some of my colleagues to calibrate the systems we designed and built in Guadalajara. It’s a significant step forward, as we are almost ready to begin treatments with AURA, the first fully automated system for IVF procedures. It’s a moment filled with mixed emotions: nostalgia, as I look back on how two years ago, when I joined this company, all of this was just a dream; and excitement, as I think about what’s to come next year. Knowing that our work will contribute to something as meaningful as helping a couple struggling with infertility achieve their dream of having a baby is indescribable. I also want to take a moment to thank my amazing leaders Gerardo Mendizabal Ruiz, Alejandro Chavez-Badiola, MD, PhD, Alan Murray and Joshua Abram for this incredible opportunity in my professional life. Their trust in my work and their shared enthusiasm for believing in this project with me have been truly inspiring. Below is an edited version with the highlights: It’s a BIG week here at Conceivable. We have begun moving AURA to Hope IVF, Alejandro’s clinic in Mexico City. The first two of seven workstations arrived on-site yesterday. By January 1st, the world’s first fully automated end-to-end IVF lab will be reassembled and installed. In parallel, Alejandro is on site preparing for the recruitment process for our 100-patient IRB which ideally will begin early in the New Year. We’re extremely proud of the team’s dedication, commitment, and ferocious work ethic. Over the last three months, twelve-hour days and weekends in the office have been the norm for many of our engineers as they sprinted to make the December deadline for the move to Mexico City. We are thrilled by what we have accomplished as we close out this year. Have a great holiday season and when you return, we hope to report that Santa’s elves have left an operating AURA under the tree.
