Empowering conversations that connect all aspects of the climate crisis
About us
Founder Greg Dalton and co-host Ariana Brocious lead a broad, evidence-based conversation about climate disruption and its consequences by bringing leaders, experts and concerned citizens together in pursuit of empathy, common ground, and cross-sector solutions. Now in our second decade, Climate One is doubling down on our mission to be the premier platform for the conversation about the climate emergency. Through our podcast, national radio show, and live events for thought leaders and concerned members of the public, we create opportunities for dialogue and inspire a more complete understanding of the current crisis. We envision a world where clear-eyed awareness of the climate crisis shapes decisions ranging from personal behavior to public policy, and where the full spectrum of humanity’s wisdom, talent and expertise is marshaled toward the well-being of all life on Earth. Thank your for joining the conversation.

Transfer of Power: Life After Coal

Coal fueled our country and served as the economic backbone of many rural communities for more than a century. But today, coal is no longer the cheapest source of energy, and its carbon cost is well known. Can former coal towns adapt to the clean energy transition? In search of answers, Austin Colon visits Kemmerer, Wyoming on today's episode. There, he's joined by Caitlin Tan of Wyoming Public Media and Kemmerer City Administrator Brian Muir for an insider's look at how this former coal powerhouse is diversifying its economy. And to complement Austin's first-hand observations, Ariana Brocious speaks with Christopher Levesque, Tony Skrelunas, and Mike Eisenfeld. Listen to their conversation now on your favorite podcast platform.

A second Trump presidency is almost certain to lead to renewed attacks on renewable energy sources and climate policies. We at Climate One are ready and able to keep you informed on all the changes through our fact-based independent reporting, but we need your help. Producing a new hour-long episode each week is a resource-intensive process, and we are a nonprofit media outlet dependent on listener support. As you plan year-end contributions, we hope you'll consider support our work for just $5/month.

What Trump 2.0 Means for the Climate

The implications of a Trump presidency for climate policy appear grim. But environmental organizations — even those aligned with the Republican party — are already pushing back on his proposals. But does this mean climate progress in the U.S. is still possible for the next four years? For a better understanding of where climate policy stands under our incoming president, Greg Dalton and Ariana Brocious interview Abbie Dillen of Earthjustice and Heather Reams of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES). Their conversation is now available wherever you find your podcasts.

Dr. Sarah Benn worked for 32 years as a medical doctor in the English National Health Service. Having worried for years about climate issues while trying to reduce her personal impact on the planet, she discovered nonviolent direct action in 2019. Her life would never be the same.
