  • We are excited to announce that Climate Earth™ and CarbiCrete™ have partnered to release the first-ever Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for CarbiCrete’s cement-free concrete masonry units (CMUs)! What Sets This EPD Apart? ✔️ 20x Lower Global Warming Potential (GWP): CarbiCrete’s CMUs achieve a remarkable GWP of 11.7 kg CO₂ per m³, compared to the industry average of over 200. ✔️ Cement-Free Innovation: By replacing cement with steel slag and curing with CO₂, CarbiCrete significantly reduces emissions while delivering the quality and durability the industry depends on. 🚀 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝟴𝟬% 𝗖𝗢𝟮 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝟳𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲?! 🚀 Last week, Holcim invited Fabian Diaz and I to attend their Innovation day on Behalf of Climate Earth. We had the opportunity to meet Dr. Bastian Wittstock and listen to ¨wowing presentations¨, as Nikolaos Vlasopoulos put it. One highlisht was EPFL´s Karen Scrivener´s presentation, who outlined crucial steps to reduce CO2 emissions in cement-based materials by 2050: • 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁: The need for rapid action to address embodied emissions in construction. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝟳𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲, presenting a huge opportunity for improvement. • 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝘀𝗲: Efficient plants, waste fuels, and alternative raw materials can significantly cut CO2 from clinker production. 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (~𝟴𝟬%) 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻. • 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Industry-wide cooperation is essential to achieve these goals. At Climate Earth, we align perfectly with these principles through our comprehensive Approach to Cement & Concrete Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) & Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Here’s why our EPDs are essential: • 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Provide clear, verified environmental data. • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Ensure your products meet the latest regulatory standards. • 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: Stand out with credible sustainability credentials. • 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Empower your clients to make eco-friendly choices. Climate Earth is proud to celebrate our collaboration with Holcim at their Innovation Days event, where our team had the privilege to contribute directly to the conversation on sustainable concrete. Our very own Fabian Diaz and Mohammed Issa attended the event, with Fabian getting the opportunity to present the impact of Climate Earth's EPD Generator™ on Holcim’s global operations. Our tool has enabled Holcim to produce mix-specific, third-party-verified EPDs at scale, supporting initiatives like their groundbreaking low-carbon EcoPact concrete solution. The results speak for themselves: measurable carbon reductions, increased transparency, and alignment with decarbonization goals. For instance, projects leveraging EcoPact have achieved at least a 30% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to standard (CEM I) concrete. We’re inspired by the conversations and leadership Holcim is fostering with different stakeholders and are excited to continue driving change together.
