The key to proper rainscreen function is both DRAINAGE (blue water drops) & DRYING (red arrows). This can be measured with ASTM E2925 - Standard Specification for Manufactured Polymeric Drainage and Ventilation Materials Used to Provide a Rainscreen Function. This test protocol provides a pathway to measure these two attributes: how efficiently the wall drains bulk water plus how completely it can dry behind the cladding via convective air movement. The E-Screen System with the two new tracks has proven to perform in both areas!
