We’re thrilled to share that we administered our first commercial dose of Hemgenix, a gene therapy infusion for hemophilia B, a rare blood disorder. Gene therapy focuses on adding a normal copy of a gene to treat hemophilia. This extraordinary moment was made possible by the unwavering dedication of our team and their compassionate, personalized care for Ryan. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure he felt comforted and at ease, including visits from Phoenix, CHLA's Virtual Reality Technologist, and Art Therapist Nicole, who also joined to offer a creative and emotional outlet for this life-changing experience. Dr. Jeanine Hall helped lead a special partnership between Laurence School and CHLA this holiday season. As co-chair of Laurence’s community service program, she organized a toy drive and brought the donations to CHLA's Emergency Department, spreading joy and holiday cheer to every patient.

Elvis is in the building! 🎤✨ At CHLA’s annual talent show, staff were delighted by a rockin’ performance from none other than Elvis himself - aka our talented team member Calvin Lowe, MD! This festive tradition brought the CHLA team together, celebrating incredible talents and creativity. Cheers to the spirit of community and joy that makes CHLA such a special place to work! 🌟

Working through the holidays can be tough, but our CHLA NICCU team found a way to bring laughter and joy to the season! Every year, the NICCU team chooses a fun theme and plans activities around it. This year’s theme was Squirrel on the Shelf, inspired by the movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The staff hosted a 12-day squirrel scavenger hunt and casted their votes for their favorite hiding spot. Shout out to our incredible NICCU team for making this holiday season memorable. ❤️
