About us
Chicago Loop Alliance leads the community by creating and supporting inclusive programs that attract people and investment to the Loop. Chicago Loop Alliance's services and projects are in place to realize the vision of the Chicago Loop being an iconic global destination and the city’s most vibrant and welcoming neighborhood. As a member-based business organization, Chicago Loop Alliance advocates for the city's rapidly growing central business district. Representing over 300 of the Loop's business, civic, and cultural institutions, CLA is the only organization whose primary role is to promote businesses and lead revitalization efforts specific to the Loop. The Loop's boundaries are the Chicago River to the north and west, Ida B. Wells Drive on the south and Lake Michigan on the east. CLA continues to be the service provider of Special Service Area #1, which includes property on both sides of State Street between Wacker Drive on the north and Ida B. Wells on the south. These services include landscaping, power washings, seasonal decorations, events, marketing and infrastructure maintenance.

We support the idea that Chicago is due for a "renaissance" and in need of some "reimagining". This recent editorial from the Chicago Tribune is an insightful and inspiring read. It's time to come together, get creative, and think outside of the box. We welcome all conversations and big ideas! Chicago Loop Alliance aims to bring some new ideas to the table in 2025.
Editorial: Downtown Chicago needs reimagining. It’s OK (this time) to think small.

Chicago Loop Alliance reposted this
This week I had the pleasure of attending Italian Village Restaurants grand re-opening of their speakeasy-esque bar and restaurant, Sotto. Congrats to Jonathan Capitanini, Giovanna Capitanini, and the entire Capitanini family for bringing this fun and modern concept to life. The lighting is the right amount of moody, the drinks are great, and the food is quite phenomenal. Needless to say, I'm happy that Chicago Loop Alliance's offices are located right next door! Check it out when you get a chance.

Fa-la-la-la-Laing in the Loop with Mark Hubbard & The Voices along State Street — and we even made it snow. ICYMI: we’re back next Wednesday, December 11 from noon-1 (in front of Target) #HolidaysInTheLoop

“It’s a really crowded day,” [Octavion Thomas ] said on Tuesday over the sound of street performers’ drumming. “It’s holiday time. The spirit of the holidays just cranked in, just throughout the city in general. So we’re starting to see the influx of foot traffic, and you can feel the energy level.” Stories like this one from Chicago Tribune’s Peter Breen are what it takes to rebuild Chicago’s confidence in the Loop and showcases the compassion and dedication of our great ambassador team!

A big thank you to Choose Chicago for hosting an incredible PR Roundtable focused on Sports Communications yesterday! Hearing insights from the CMOs of Chicago's sports franchises was both inspiring and a powerful reminder of how deeply sports culture shapes our amazing city. And what better way to kick off the week than at the breathtaking Lyric Opera of Chicago? Go #Chicago!
