We’re growing our production while spending less. Our CEO, Mike Wirth, recently met with Frederick Kempe, CEO of the Atlantic Council, to discuss our strategy with a focus on capital efficiency. Even higher returns are expected in 2025 as we expand in the Permian Basin and explore the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. ➡ Keep watching here: https://lnkd.in/gXRKewQg

The energy system is massive, and it takes time for solutions to scale. Molly Laegeler, our Vice President of Strategy and Sustainability, recently spoke about the pace of the global energy transition at the FT Global Boardroom. Get the recap of what she talked about below. ⬇

    Vice President at Chevron

Last week I had the pleasure of chatting with Anne-Christine Champion, Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal, Connor Teskey, and Malcolm Moore about the pace of the global energy transition at the FT Global Boardroom. Pace is the biggest strategic question facing the industry. The energy system is massive, and it takes time for solutions to scale. It took oil and gas 40 years to go from 1-10% of the energy mix. Renewable power is the fastest growing solution, but wind and solar are still only 2.5% of the energy mix according to the IEA. The transition will happen at different speeds in different regions around the world based on technology, policy, infrastructure and consumer demand. Demand is expected to grow 15% in the coming decades. Many solutions will be needed to meet this growing demand. Whether it is our work with Chevron Studio, a partnership with National Renewable Energy Lab, linking entrepreneurs with early-stage technologies developed in universities and national labs, investments from our future energy fund to support entrepreneurs developing lower carbon technology, or pilots to trial lower carbon technologies in our operations, we are driving innovation to help build the energy system of the future. I joined the energy industry because I like addressing complex challenges. Meeting growing demand while lowering carbon emissions is one of the most important issues of our time. I’m optimistic and excited about the opportunities ahead. Working together, society can achieve change at scale and address climate change while meeting the world’s energy needs.

Renewable gasoline blends should deliver performance and lower carbon intensity. Here are some key takeaways about the new type of renewable gasoline we are blending. 👇 1️⃣ Can be used in any gasoline-fueled vehicle on the road today 2️⃣ Functions like traditional gasoline—no engine changes are required 3️⃣ Toyota used it with existing infrastructure to fuel a shipment of new vehicles Learn more about our partnership with Toyota here: https://lnkd.in/gnG4ZyCF #CVX

We are targeting a production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day of renewable fuels by 2030. Drop-in fuels, such as renewable gasoline blends and renewable diesel, can work with existing fuel infrastructure, making them a viable, scalable, and lower carbon option. This helps preserve customer choice and make a difference in lowering carbon intensity. Read on: https://lnkd.in/gMjgAb9i #CVX
