  • We are proud to welcome 22 participants from 13 companies to our 2025 AgHiRE cohort! AgHiRE provides Spanish-speaking farm employees with the skills necessary to advance into positions with higher responsibility and leadership. The curriculum was developed based on survey data from employers in more than 30 California counties who identified key skill gaps in leadership roles on their operations. With input from a committee of employers and industry experts, the program addresses these needs, creating a structured pathway for employee growth. With nearly 90 instructional hours running through mid-March, the curriculum includes English development, regulatory awareness, communication, leadership, and more. AgHiRE participants bring an average of 10 years with their current employer and 5 years in their current roles. The program's promise is to help employers prepare high-potential employees for advancement, equipping them to navigate the evolving labor, climate, regulatory, and technological landscape. Big thanks to the California Workforce Development Board for making this possible through their High Road Training Partnership initiative.  #AgHiRE #WorkforceDevelopment #CaliforniaFarmAcademy Photo credit: Joan Cusick
