Over twenty years ago, an idea was hatched between a few Cincinnati local veterinarians. That idea grew into the first 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Hospital in the Tri-State. Now, all these years later, our team spans multiple specialties across two locations, and we are continuing to grow every year. With that growth comes additional opportunities to welcome strong, dedicated individuals who are looking for a career more than just a job. Our success is achieved by providing rewarding careers to all of our team members, and being a compassionate, competent and ever-present resource for our referring community. You will be provided with on-the job training to succeed in your role. With a structured advancement program, you will have tools at your fingertips to grow your skills, knowledge, and income as a veterinary professional. Care Center is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week emergency and critical care facility. If your family veterinarian is not available, there is an experienced emergency clinician on duty at all times at Care. We also function as an extension of your veterinarian's practice with specialists (available by referral) in Critical Care/24-hour Emergency, Acupuncture, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medical, Radiation, and Surgical Oncology, Radioiodine (I-131), Radiology, and Surgery. We are AAHA Accredited, earning both Traditional and Referral Accreditation in both our Cincinnati and Dayton locations. We also house the Tri-State's only animal blood bank.

Chemotherapy will make my pet too sick. 🐾 In most cases, the chance of significant side effects is less than 10%. 🐾 Chemotherapy doses for pets are lower than for people, so pets typically don't experience the same side effects as humans. 🐾 Pets rarely lose their fur during chemotherapy treatment. Members of the #CareCenter #team had another opportunity to join first responders and emergency medical service providers of several different departments to teach them how to perform life-saving measures on four-legged #patients. We reviewed safe and proper restraint of injured animals, intubation, stabilizing and treating injuries in the field, medication administration, and CPR. Thank you to everyone who joined us – especially our live models! There is no good prognosis for pets with cancer. 🐾 A pet's prognosis depends on the type of cancer and how advanced it is at the time of diagnosis. Many cancers can be effectively managed for a long time, and some can even be put into remission. 🐾 Early diagnosis is key to the best outcome. Did you know that November is #PetCancerAwarenessMonth? Follow along with us this month as we #debunk some #myths regarding cancer in pets! Starting off with this myth - #dogs and #cats can't get skin cancer because of their fur. 🐾 Just like people, dogs and cats are prone to sunburns. Not only is it painful, but repeated exposure to the sun and sunburn can lead to more serious problems, including certain types of skin cancer. 🐾 Some breeds are more at risk for sunburn than others. Hairless breeds and animals with white or thin coats need more protection when outside for long periods of time. 🐾 Sunscreen does protect pets from sunburn, but be sure to use the correct type.
