  • 🚧Fairfield Ave over I-95 Emergency Replacement, CT 🚧 Here’s the finale for this project, showcasing highlights from our 5 previous Behind The Build updates and special footage from the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held on December 2. A huge congratulations to Yonkers Contracting Company, Inc. for orchestrating this incredible effort. And most importantly, THANK YOU to our team for their extra OT, hard work, and precision in fabricating this bridge nearly flawlessly. “Every partner on this project overperformed the ambitious deadlines we set in May. This is a remarkable achievement and demonstrates what we can get done for the traveling public when federal, state, and local partners share a common purpose.” - CT Transportation Commissioner Garret Eucalitto “This is a great example of what can be accomplished when government, contractors, and local leaders work together with a sense of urgency and purpose. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the Connecticut Department of Transportation and our partnering contractors, we’ve been able to reopen the Fairfield Avenue Bridge ahead of schedule, under budget, and with a more modern design that will better serve the community for years to come.” - CT Governor Ned Lamont #ProjectUpdate #BridgeReplacement #Norwalk #CT #SteelFabrication #CanamBridges #AISC #NSBA #EmergencyResponse #CTDOT 🎥 Fourth Kind Films undefined

  • 🚨 Employee Spotlight 🚨 Randi Sims - Estimating Manager Randi joined our team 3-1/2 years ago, but his journey here was set in motion by a long-standing connection with our Sales Director, Tony Matutis. In 2020, Tony put in a good word and recommended Randi for the role of Estimating Manager, a role he has excelled in ever since. Randi brings a wealth of expertise to the table, holding a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a P.E. in Civil Engineering, alongside extensive experience in the steel industry. One of his greatest passions is teaching others, passing on the knowledge he has gained over the years. His guiding principle? "You benefit the most when you are helping others." Randi's first project as our Estimating Manager, Portal North, sold just a few months after he stepped into the role. It's no surprise that this remains one of his favorite projects, along with the Livingston Lift Bridge, both known for their complexity and innovative design. Outside of work, Randi draws inspiration from his family. He and his wife dedicate themselves to being positive role models for their children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment they can spend together. Randi is a man of many talents and experiences. Did you know he once danced on American Bandstand? Or that he lived in Taiwan for a year and a half? His well-rounded background and dedication to both work and family make him an incredible asset to our team. Thank you, Randi, for your leadership, passion, and commitment! #Estimate #TeamTuesday #EmployeeSpotlight #JoinCanam #Hiring #Careers #MechanicalEngineering #CivilEngineering

The I-295 Overpass Project in Smithfield, RI! This major reconstruction for RIDOT involves four overpasses: I-295 Northbound, Southbound, Springbrook, and Sayles Hill. We’re proud to share that the project is 92% complete, with the final phase of Sayles Hill Road set for delivery next April-May! Fabrication for these structures kicked off in early 2023, proving that even "simple" projects take time and precision. By completion, we’ll have fabricated 940+ tons of steel! This project is led by the talented Skanska x J.H. Lynch & Sons, Inc. JV as the General Contractor and Bay Crane Companies as the Freight Carrier AND Erector, ensuring everything comes together seamlessly. Fun fact: Rhode Island’s signature bridge color is this striking blue, adding a touch of beauty to functional infrastructure. • 🚨 Employee Spotlight 🚨 Dylan Patrie, Painter III & Metallizer Dylan joined our team two years ago, bringing prior experience in metalizing to the table, with that he hit the ground running, quickly becoming an integral part of our operations! One of Dylan’s favorite projects has been the Portal North project, mentioning that he appreciated the variety and complexity of the large, intricate pieces that required thoughtful problem-solving. In his time here, he estimates working on five or six projects, favoring the large-scale ones for the sense of accomplishment they bring when completed. Dylan’s advice to newcomers? "Take your time to learn and never hesitate to ask questions." This common wisdom reflects the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of our industry. Dylan’s biggest motivation is his son, who dreams of seeing one of our bridges “up in the sky.” It sounds like Dylan’s dedication might be inspiring the next generation, and we have a metallizer in the making! Though Dylan once dreamed of becoming a comedian, he’s found a way to bring laughter to his role. His coworkers describe him as fun, hardworking, and determined, a winning combination for any team. Thank you, Dylan, for your hard work and positive energy. Here’s to many more projects and milestones ahead! 🎉 #TeamTuesday #EmployeeSpotlight #Metalize #ThermalSpray #Zinc #Painter #PortalNorth #StructuralStee; #SteelBridge #BridgeBuilder #Team #Careers #Success #JoinCanam #Hiring
