We cut the ribbon this week on Albany County’s first major solar photovoltaic (PV) ground-mount array on five acres of county property in the Town of Colonie! The 2.1-megawatt solar farm will generate nearly 3,000 MWh per year, equivalent to powering 270 homes. The solar project will be owned and operated by Calibrant Energy.

In July, PJM's capacity prices hit record highs as a result of higher demand and tighter electricity supply. The capacity auction means consumers will pay $14.7 billion for capacity in 2025 - 2026 (it was $2.2 billion in the last auction).
