I recently had a conversation with a colleague about how often we tie our identities to what we do. We introduce ourselves with our accolades, but rarely with who we truly are. So, let me reintroduce myself: I’m Brittany D. Ward. I am bold, confident, and unapologetically myself. I am courageous and fiercely loyal. I am sassy and direct. I am adaptable, ambitious, assertive, decisive, determined, empowering, considerate, reliable, resilient, and deeply understanding. The roles we play in life may change with the seasons, but who we are at our core remains our true essence. So, who are you? Reintroduce yourself in the comments—I’d love to get to know the real you. #ReintroduceYourself #BeAuthentic #ThisIsMe

As the only child and first of seven grandchildren, I’ve always felt a sense of responsibility. I’m proud to be the first in my family to earn both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree, but even more meaningful is knowing that someone has always been watching—looking up to me. These two are the perfect example of that responsibility. I am not their mother, but the way I live my life influences the decisions they make in the present, and will continue to impact their future. I fully EMBRACE my role to give back, show up, and be present for them. This is how we create moments that matter—by showing up. How are you showing up in the moments that matter? #leadership #rolemodel #responsibility #family #mentorship #inspiration

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 🌟 Earlier in my career as a consultant at one of the Big 4, networking was a major source of anxiety for me. "Network with as many people as possible, it's the best way to find a project." “You don't want to end up on the bench too long; it'll hurt your utilization." As an introvert, this overwhelmed me, and I found myself in a loop of shallow conversations, just adding names to a list without true connection. Then I shifted my approach: I began 𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞. I believe people excel at what they naturally enjoy, and this change led me to build 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟, 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗦—some of which I still have today. More importantly, it gave me a 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗬 for making 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 that felt manageable. As I prepared to launch my first in-person event in the DFW metroplex, I used that same approach. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧? BWCultivates® 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟰𝟬+ 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝘆 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀. Here’s what attendees had to say: "I felt seen, inspired, and fulfilled." "Thank you for this event. I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I stepped in the room." "Your story about losing your grandmother to cancer resonated with me. The loss of my own grandmother inspired me to show up here today so I can learn how to chase my dreams." These are real comments from real women who didn’t know me before, but now, because of the impact we made, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬. Some key takeaways from this weekend: ☑️ 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀. Embrace it. ☑️ No matter how busy things get, 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 who needs a kind word, a hug, or just acknowledgment. ☑️ 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 > 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. My friends, family, and event partners showed up for me, even when I didn’t know how to show up for myself. ☑️ It’s not just what you know; 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲. We did it, y’all! And this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes from this amazing journey. #CloserToMyDreams #BWcultivates #Impact #Community #BlackWomenInBusiness #Networking

Imagine standing on the edge of everything you've ever wanted—every dream, every goal, every desire, all within your reach. But there’s something holding you back. It’s that small voice inside that whispers, “Not yet. Maybe not ever.” But what if I told you that this voice is wrong? What if I told you that you already have the power, the potential, and the purpose to be great? That every doubt, every hesitation, is just a distraction from your true potential? Imagine being in a room filled with women who see you not for who you are now but for who you can become. Women who understand that sometimes all you need is a push—a nudge in the right direction to help you amplify everything you are, even when all you can see are the things you’re not. Would you believe it? Would you seize the opportunity? Would you prepare yourself for the leap that could change everything? If you’re ready to silence that voice of doubt and step boldly into the life you've been dreaming of, join us. This is your moment to rise, to claim your greatness, and to be surrounded by a community that will uplift you every step of the way. Are you ready to take the leap? Secure your spot now and let’s make those dreams a reality, together. https://lnkd.in/gbJqFiNs #Dallas #WomenEmpowerment #PersonalGrowth #TakeTheLeap #ConfidenceBoost #GoalSetting #DreamBig #ProfessionalWomen #MindsetShift #EmpowerHer #CareerGrowth #WomenInLeadership #SelfBelief #RiseTogether #OvercomeFear

I was asked to contribute to a post about what organizations can do to get more women into leadership roles. This question has traditionally been a pet peeve of mine because it is the organizational leadership in part that decides who gets selected into leadership roles. I’ve been part of and led many women in leadership programs, and while they are great for development purposes, we need to acknowledge that getting women into leadership roles is a two-sided problem that usually receives a one-sided solution. It's often approached from a single perspective that implies women aren’t promoted because they aren’t doing enough—not enough self-advocacy, not enough assertiveness, not enough ambition, not enough networking, not enough visibility, or not enough strategic thinking— while failing to educate leaders on recognizing and nurturing female talent. Organizations must be accountable for the fact that if they perpetuate a cycle where a predominantly white male C-suite continues to advance more white men, they will, by default, have little to no women in leadership roles. It's time to address both sides of the problem. #Leadership #WomenInLeadership #Diversity #Inclusion #Equality #GenderEquality #LeadershipDevelopment #WorkplaceDiversity #WomenInBusiness
