Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is a community-based 501(c)(3) organization that was formed in 1998 by a group of local religious congregations. BHH first opened as a Food Center in November 1998, serving nutritious hot lunches three days a week and distributing bags of groceries to families. In January 2010, all operations were consolidated into the Remillard Family Resource Center located at 1500 NW 1st Court, Boca Raton 33432.
Boca Helping Hands opened a Resource Center in April 2002 with a focus on providing help for Boca Raton residents in crisis situations (e.g., eviction, utility cancellation, prescription medication). Today, a hot, nutritious meal can be picked up six days a week at our main facility on a drive-thru basis. Meals are also delivered to homebound disabled and elderly individuals.
We continue to see a large increase in the demand for our services. In response to this increased demand, we expanded the Job Training Program. We offer the following classes: Medical Billing & Coding, Home Health Aide training, Certified Nurse Assistant, Information & Technology training, CDL (Commercial Truck Driving) training, and Customer Service Representative training. Our Job Mentoring program provides coaching, guidance and classes designed to help individuals who are seeking employment opportunities. These services complement our food and resource programs in our continuing efforts to help clients improve their quality of life and achieve financial stability.
We are generously supported by individuals, corporations, foundations, schools and over 300 dedicated volunteers.
