As global leaders prepare for the U.N. Great to hear the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People is an official nominee for the ocean category of The Earthshot Prize, recognizing the importance of a movement to protect 30% of the planet by 2030. Yesterday, we came together with partners to host "Towards 30x30 Across the Globe" at the GEF #IWC10 in Uruguay. The event brought together over 50 marine conservation practitioners and subject matter experts to engage in dialogues on the enabling conditions needed for the world to meet the marine 30x30 goal. With participants from Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and Latin America, conversations spanned a range of topics related to MPA effectiveness and what can be done to ensure lasting conservation outcomes for communities and the world's marine ecosystems.
