Downtown Dallas has a great museum district. I took a walk through there a couple weeks ago during the SEGD conference, and I was impressed with the beauty of that section of the city. I also got to see the work that we did for RSM Design at the The University of Texas at Dallas' Crow Museum of Asian Art This 15’-6” long x 10” tall letterset was finished to match the composite building panel, as RSM envisioned a cohesive look where the signage is an intrinsic part of the architecture. These letters boast a sleek ½” illuminated return using glacier white acrylic diffusers. The returns are Illuminated with 40 feet of warm white Bitro Group Tracer LEDs. These tiny 3000k LED strips are bendable to conform to tight radii and are coated for corrosion resistance. Due to limited space within the letter cavity, each wire connection was meticulously soldered and sealed by hand. Two 60-watt power supplies deliver power through plenum rated cables from within the building canopy. This setup ensures perfect lighting diffusion that works in harmony with the ambient light (as you can see from this video taken mid-day), while eliminating any hot spots.
