About us
The Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management is dedicated to providing the construction industry with a graduate ready to accept the challenges of today's global market. Our graduates enter the construction industry in various positions with the ability to lead, problem solve and use innovative applications on their projects. They quickly become valued members of a construction team and participate in planning, cost estimating, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of a complete facility in a timely, safe and quality manner. Our construction management undergraduate degree program was established in 1972 and has been accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) since 1982. The construction management MS graduate program has been accredited by the ACCE since 2016.

Congratulations to our 2024 CM Graduate Student Poster Competition! 1st place - Kasra Banijamali: Automated Geometrical Inspection During Robotic Additive Manufacturing Using Structured Light 3D Machine Vision 2nd place - Mohamed Abdelmageed: Enhancing the Sustainability and Cost-Effectiveness of High-Modulus Asphalt Concrete (HMAC) Mixes with Crumb Rubber 3rd place - Ehsan Ahmadi: Multimodal based Locomotion Prediction of Industrial Construction Activities for Exoskeleton Power Control The CM GA Poster Competition takes place every fall in conjunction with the CIAC Career Fair. Construction Management graduate students design a poster on their current research and give a 10-minute presentation for judging. Thank you to all participants and judges!

The Project Management in Industrial Construction Certificate is now live and active. Professionals in the industrial construction sector who want to drive their careers forward and move into a project controls or estimator role must obtain the knowledge related to the business side of the field. With the Project Management in Industrial Construction MicroCred for College Credit Certificate from LSU Online & Continuing Education, students can gain the required skills in project estimating and bidding, scheduling, and more. The certificate program consists of two 8-week courses and an elective of students’ choosing. Electives concentrate on topics such as the following: Process equipment, maintenance, and turnarounds Electrical installations Strategic planning Organizational behavior Upon completion of the three-course series (see list below), students will receive an LSU MicroCred digital badge that can be used for online résumés, personal websites, or social media. In addition, these are college courses and can be fully transferred into LSU’s Online Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM).
