I am glad to share this post and to announce that me and Prof. Fabio Freddi have been awarded the very prestigious (>€275k) #Marie #Skłodowska #Curie #Postdoctoral #Fellowship by the #European #Commission for the project “#R4STEEL: #post-#earthquake #functional #Recovery, #Resilience, #Reparability and #Reversibility of #STEEL #structures”. I will have the honour to join his talented research group at #UCL Dept of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for two years and to join #ArcelorMittal for a six-month non-academic placement for the exploitation of the achieved results in practice. The R4STEEL project proposes a novel building-level framework to develop, analyse, and compare innovative methodologies and structural technologies for the post-earthquake functional Recovery, Resilience, Reparability, and Reversibility of STEEL Structures. The work investigates the combined use of #Friction #Devices (FDs) and #Self-#Centering (SC) systems to provide energy dissipation capacity and residual drift reduction considering several structural typologies.
