Linda’s journey has been filled with love and resilience. In addition to caring for her grandchildren, she’s been a source of strength for her daughter, who is going back to school and raising her 7-year-old son under Linda’s roof. Last year, Linda faced the heartbreaking loss of her husband after his battle with cancer. Though times have been hard, Linda’s unwavering love and commitment to her family shines through. We’re thrilled to help bring holiday joy to her and her family this season. Francisco and Araceli, high school sweethearts since 9th grade, are a team both in life and in raising their family. Francisco works tirelessly in landscaping to provide for them, while Araceli dedicates her time to caring for their children and volunteering at Ripley House School. From chaperoning field trips to helping with school festivals and the BakerRipley Cheer Team, Araceli’s commitment to her family and community shines brightly. Despite their best efforts, the family faces financial struggles, with rising utility bills and other challenges making it harder to make ends meet. Yet their resilience and love for one another remain unshaken. A survivor of domestic violence, Liz found herself starting over with nothing after her divorce. With determination and the support of her sister, she’s working tirelessly to rebuild her life, including enrolling in BakerRipley’s free English classes to pursue her dream of returning to the medical field. Liz credits her teacher for providing not only excellent instruction but also encouragement and resources to help her stay focused on her goals. Liz’s strength and perseverance inspire us all, and we’re honored to celebrate her journey. As a single parent, Michael turned to BakerRipley’s Veteran Assistance Program, where he found the support needed to secure stable housing. Now, with a safe place to call home, Michael and his children are building a brighter future together, filled with hope and love. Originally from Wisconsin, Lorenzo, a military veteran, and wife Whitney relocated their family for a fresh start. After facing financial challenges that left them living in a hotel, Lorenzo turned to BakerRipley’s Rapid Rehousing program in Fall 2023. With the guidance of their BakerRipley Case Manager, they secured housing assistance, allowing them to move into a new home on July 22, 2024—just steps away from their children’s school. Despite financial challenges, Bianca works tirelessly to provide for her family, seeking resources and participating in various BakerRipley programs to support her children’s needs.
