Imagine displays that not only show you 3D content but can also morph into 3D shapes, bringing realism to a new level. Think 3D art installations that respond to touch, wearable devices that adapt to our movements, or dynamic car screens that change based on driver needs. Today, conventional displays are built for flat screens, and the materials don't allow for flexible shapes. However, research by KAIST leveraging our 3D printing tech may have changed the game. Their research explores a shape-morphing display that can shift into complex 3D forms and hold its shape without constant power. Using a blend of low-melting-point alloy and graphene within a stretchable material, this display can transform with a quick burst of heat, and light up in its new shape.
