It was a thrilling time at the French house on 12th December 2024, ASVIOL Support Initiative is pleased to have partnered with the French Embassy in Nigeria on showcasing the beautiful and vibrant culture of northern Nigeria and the sounds of music that makes one reflect and dance by @morellakilah . This event was further crowned by the powerful documentary 'Unseen Scars' where we interrogated the abuse and harassment that people face in their public and private lives and the effect this has on the quality of their lives. The screening of 'Unseen Scars' sparked meaningful discussions, reflections, and connections among attendees, fostering a sense of community and solidarity in the pursuit of a safer, more equitable society for all.

Today marks the final day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, but our fight for justice, equality, and safety does not end here. Let us continue to stand in solidarity with survivors, advocate for stronger policies, and challenge the systems that enable abuse. Every action counts, whether it's educating others, supporting survivors, or pushing for accountability. Together, we can create a future where everyone lives free from fear and violence. Day 15 of #16daysofactivism Statistics from UN Women reveal that 200 million women and girls have undergone FGM, and 1 in 5 girls globally are married before the age of 18. These harmful practices are deeply rooted in tradition and cultural norms. Community leaders are key to changing this narrative. By challenging harmful practices and promoting respect, consent, and equality, they inspire collective action and foster safer communities. #ChildMarriageMustEnd #StopGenderBasedViolence #RespectAndConsent #Endfgm #16DaysOfActivism

Day 13 of #16daysofactivism Online spaces are increasingly unsafe for women. According to UN Women, 73% of women have faced online abuse, with many experiencing threats, harassment, and doxxing. This form of gender-based violence silences voices, harms mental health, and creates barriers for women to fully participate in digital spaces. A safer internet is possible when we all commit to ending online gender-based violence. Let’s reclaim digital spaces for respect, equality, and inclusivity. #EndOnlineGBV #DigitalSafety #16DaysOfActivism
