Hierarchies and inequities embedded in the research enterprise exclude, silence, and harm too many. Our current system operates at an unsustainable pace that is only increasing, and the design of institutional reward systems privilege the quantity of publications, grants, and awards we produce over the quality of the same. This is why a practice of care is necessary.
The inaugural “Ethos of Care Credential for Transformational Change” and the inaugural “Convening of Care“ developed research strategies to mitigate implicit bias and promote an ethos of care in the academic research enterprise.
