Passionate Social Worker | Guiding Individuals Toward Mental Wellness and Healing

Today was an incredible day at AMFM Healthcare Mission Connection here in Virginia, where I had the privilege of leading my Intensive Outpatient Therapy group through a session focused on understanding anger, its impact on the brain, body, and emotions, and how to channel it in healthy and constructive ways. We explored the cycle of anger, busted common myths, and conducted self-assessments to deepen self-awareness. What truly stood out was seeing a participant, who usually stays quiet, find their voice and share their experiences with the group. It was such a powerful and inspiring moment for everyone in the room. These are the moments that remind me why I’m so passionate about this work. Creating safe spaces for people to open up, connect, and grow is at the heart of what we do. I’m grateful to be a part of a team and a mission that empowers individuals to thrive right here in Virginia. #AMFMHealthCare #MissionConnection #VirginiaMentalHealth #IntensiveOutpatientTherapy #MentalHealthMatters #AngerManagement #GrowthAndHealing #TherapyWorks #MissionDriven

Director of Strategy & Growth for Mission Connection a part of AMFM Healthcare

When I first joined AMFM Healthcare just over a year ago, I used to joke that I was waiting for people to stop showing up as their representative... because it honestly felt too good to be true. Even six month in when I had the opportunity to sit with my new boss Stephen Ebbett for the first time, I warned him that he would likely feel and wonder for a while if what he was experiencing would last, but I assured him nothing would change, and things would honestly only get better. A year later, I’m still in awe of the authenticity, kindness, and dedication of the people I get to work with every day. From leadership to my colleagues, this team consistently shows up, not just for the work but for each other. This year has been filled with immense growth, both professionally and personally. I’ve learned so much from those around me and have seen firsthand the impact we’re making in people’s lives. It’s rare to find a place where the mission, the culture, and the people all align so seamlessly, and I feel truly lucky to be part of this team. Here’s to 2025 being our best year yet, filled with intentional growth and continuing to positively impact the lives of those we are lucky enough to serve!

✨ Clinical Outreach for Mission Connection at AMFM Healthcare ✨

Before attaining my newest job title with AMFM Healthcare , I never imagined this vision would take shape. Our Executive National Director, Ashley Peña, wanted to create community support groups, so I tossed the idea out there to launch a perinatal series before even fully knowing my own role in the process. I’m incredibly honored to present this custom designed, completely free six-week series for expectant and new parents alongside Nicolle from Mind Body Baby OC. Tonight, I introduce our speakers and wellness practitioners (look at the attached pictures to learn about them): Eleven incredible experts in mental health and perinatal care. They’ve generously chosen to contribute to this community offering, guiding individuals through the journey of parenthood, both before and after baby arrives. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s made this vision a reality: those who’ve allowed this to happen on my team, everyone in the process who has held space for it, and those who have actively facilitated it’s birth into society. I’m deeply humbled by the willingness of all of our speakers and wellness practitioners who were so readily willing to make a difference in the lives of others. If you or someone you know might be interested in receiving community connection and a line of support in their pre or postpartum journey, simply have them scan the QR code in the flyer below!

  • We are incredibly proud of Jason Shipley, one of the Associate Executive Directors at our teen residential treatment program, Mission Prep, for his commitment to professional growth and excellence in client care!

A double Bruin with 20 years of leadership experience, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health MHA Candidate Jason Shipley joined us on the UCLA campus recently for MHA Immersion--networking, team building, and professional development. "I decided to further my healthcare career with AMFM Healthcare by enrolling in the Master of Healthcare Administration program at UCLA. I am a working healthcare professional and this program allows me the flexibility to continue my education while still being committed to client care in the mental health field. I am interested in team leadership and patient care and UCLA’s MHA program provides me specialized knowledge to achieve these goals. I am networking with leaders in the healthcare industry, learning how to drive meaningful change in my organization and applying skills to improve healthcare outcomes." #thisispublichealth #publichealth #onlineMHA

Passionate Social Worker | Guiding Individuals Toward Mental Wellness and Healing

As a Primary Therapist at AMFM Healthcare, I had the opportunity to step in and lead a Mindful Movement Group today when our yoga instructor was out. I introduced the group to Yoga Nidra, a practice that promotes deep relaxation and self-awareness. It was amazing to see how this resonated with the participants, fostering a sense of calm and focus. Later in the day, I ran my first DBT Group, and what an incredible experience it was! The conversations around mindfulness and the impact of living on "autopilot" were deeply engaging and transformative. Witnessing the group’s interaction and growth in real time was a reminder of why I’m so passionate about this work. I’m so grateful to be part of a team and mission that prioritizes healing, connection, and growth every day. 💙 #PrimaryTherapist #Mindfulness #YogaNidra #DBT #MentalHealthMatters #MissionConnection #AMFMHealthcare #HealingJourney #MindfulLiving #MentalHealthAwareness #BehavioralHealth #TherapistLife #RestorativePractice #ConnectionAndCare
