About us

The Alliance for Supplier Diversity Professionals (ASDP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2003. Our mission is to educate and provide professional development opportunities for individuals working in the supplier diversity and small business liaison community. ASDP, in reciprocity with the Institute for Supply Management, provides the only formal training and certification program for current and aspiring Supplier Diversity Professionals. ASDP’s entire team is composed of seasoned Supplier Diversity Professionals, volunteering their time and expertise to support the education of this community. At ASDP, we are passionate about growing and developing new and tenured Supplier Diversity Professionals. We are always creating innovative training content based on the needs of the community and changing dynamics within the field. ASDP proudly announces the launch of the Advanced SBLO Training and Certification – the first program designed for seasoned SBLOs holding CSDP certification. This new module focuses on federal small business subcontracting, offering opportunities to expand procurement strategy knowledge, master regulatory compliance, collaborate on innovative solutions, engage in real-world discussions with expert facilitators, and network with fellow SBLOs.   • The Alliance of Supplier Diversity Professionals (ASDP) is thrilled to unveil a new essential training and certification service designed to elevate the expertise and impact of Supplier Diversity professionals nationwide. In addition to our comprehensive program, we launched a new training and certification module for professionals in the Federal field (see item 2 below): ASDP’s Current Offerings: - Certified Supplier Diversity Professional (CSDP) – Our Comprehensive Program - Certified Federal SBLO (CFSBLO) – Our New Module ASDP plans to introduce additional modules in the future. 1. Certified Supplier Diversity Professional (CSDP) The CSDP certification provides a robust foundation for professionals aspiring to excel in supplier diversity. This program equips participants with the knowledge and tools to effectively manage and grow diversity initiatives within their organizations. By becoming a CSDP, you will: · Gain a deep understanding of supplier diversity principles and best practices. · Enhance your ability to develop, implement, and manage supplier diversity programs. · Learn about federal, state/local, and some corporate supplier diversity requirements. · Network with peers and industry leaders to exchange strategies and success stories. Whether you are new to supplier diversity, wish to stay updated, or are seeking to formalize your expertise, the CSDP certification is your gateway to professional development in the field. The certification should be re-taken every six years, with an online re-certification process three years after passing the most recent CSDP exam. 2. Certified Federal SBLO (CFSBLO) – New Module Introducing ASDP’s Advanced Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO) Training and Certification module – the first of its kind, designed specifically for seasoned SBLOs who have already achieved the CSDP certification. Pre-registration vetting is required to ensure participants are active CSDPs. This advanced training and certification module focuses on professionals working in the federal small business subcontracting field. This exclusive program offers the opportunity to: · Deepen your knowledge of federal procurement and subcontracting strategies. · Master advanced regulatory compliance and program management. · Collaborate with peers on innovative approaches to small business program growth. · Learn from expert facilitators and engage in interactive, real-world discussions. · Network with fellow SBLOs to share insights and best practices. This advanced training has limited seating, so act promptly when invitations are sent. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the final exam, participants will earn the prestigious CFSBLO certification.   • ASDP would like to spotlight one of our longstanding members, David Ribeiro. David has been in Supplier Diversity since 2011 and a member of ASDP since 2012. David serves as our legislative chair and lives in Ludlow, Massachusetts. David is an avid New England sports fan and coaches youth ice hockey and baseball. David is a fan of Grateful Dead rock band and has been to over 100 of their concerts.   • June 19, 2023 (Orlando, FL): For 21 years, the American Supplier Diversity Professionals (ASDP) has trained and certified Supplier Diversity (SD) professionals, honoring annually a distinguished individual with the Murray Schooner Lifetime Achievement Award. Named in memory of Murray Schooner, a former SD leader and mentor who passed away in 2010, the award recognizes exemplary commitment to small businesses, advocacy, community recognition, mentorship, ethical standards, tenure, and thought leadership. This year, Suzanne Raheb is the esteemed recipient, celebrated for her significant contributions, innovation, and inclusivity in Federal Supplier Diversity. With over two decades of experience, primarily at Lockheed Martin's Supplier Diversity Department, Suzanne has significantly impacted small business professionals across corporations and governments. Her leadership has been instrumental in growing Lockheed Martin’s annual small business spend from $3 billion to nearly $5 billion, and she has been key in securing Exceptional ratings in nine out of the last eleven DCMA reviews. Suzanne's influence extends to her roles in TRIAD, the National Veteran Owned Business Association, Women Impacting Public Policy, and other organizations, showcasing her commitment to broadening opportunities for small businesses and SD professionals. Her extensive recognition includes the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development’s 1st American Corporate Leadership Award, MBN USA’s Champion of Supplier Diversity Award, SBA’s Dwight Eisenhower Award for Excellence, and Women’s Enterprise USA’s Top 100 Leaders in Supplier Diversity. Celebrated as a mentor and thought leader, Suzanne's dedication to enhancing Supplier Diversity, her role as a mentor, and her active participation in industry events make her a most deserving recipient of the prestigious Murray Schooner Award.
