  • Kurrent (formerly Event Store) has announced $12 million in funding and the launch of Kurrent Enterprise Edition, rebranding from Event Store. The funding, led by Crane Venture Partners with Creandum, will help Kurrent advance its engineering and market efforts to meet demand. Krishna Visvanathan from Crane Venture Partners said Kurrent provides businesses with context-rich data events, filling a gap in the modern data stack.   • The Office of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has announced the launch of the Massachusetts AI Hub to make Massachusetts a global leader in AI innovation. The hub will be part of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and aims to support AI research, business growth, and workforce training. A partnership with the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computer Center will provide access to high-performance computing resources. The initiative is backed by the Mass Leads Act, which includes $100 million in funding for AI development. NEA and Andreessen Horowitz led the funding round, with participation from notable angel investors like Microsoft's CTO Kevin Scott and Android founder Rich Miner.   • Google has released a new "reasoning" AI model called Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental. The model is still experimental and is available on AI Studio, Google's AI prototyping platform. The company addresses the risks associated with AI, such as jailbreak and prompt injection, through a new approach called Dynamic Application Security Testing for AI (DAST-AI).
