  • 🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 We are beyond proud to announce that Afena Federal Credit Union has been honored with the Dora Maxwell Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Responsibility! 🌟 This award recognizes the dedication and passion of our entire team, who worked tirelessly to make our Monster Mini Golf event and Riley Month a success. Through these initiatives, we brought smiles to families and raised important funds for Riley Children's Hospital, all while fostering a spirit of community and support. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without our team members' hard work, creativity, and compassion, as well as the generous support from our wonderful community. Here's to making a difference—together! Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Let's continue to build a brighter future for our community! 💙 Also, thank you to the Indiana Credit Union League for the opportunity to receive such a prestigious award. #CommunityFirst #DoraMaxwellAward #AfenaFederalCreditUnion #SocialResponsibility #RileyChildrensHospital #Teamwork

Accounting Lead at Afena Federal Credit Union

I want to thank Karen Madry and the Indiana Credit Union League for allowing me to attend the 2024 Indiana Credit Union League convention as a crasher. I was selected as one of 17 young professionals to attend the convention and participate in education sessions and networking events with credit union professionals. The crasher group spent two days together at the convention sharing our experiences at our credit unions. I loved hearing their experiences and ideas, I cannot wait to see what this group achieves as we advance in our careers. I am so grateful for everything I have learned while at Afena FCU and I look forward to other opportunities to learn and grow as an emerging leader in the credit union industry! Additionally, Afena won a social responsibility award for our Riley Monster Mini Golf event we hosted two weeks ago!

𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 (𝐀𝐃𝐄): 𝐀 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 NAIVASHA, 12 AUGUST 2024, (ACCOSCA) – Financial inclusion is one of Africa’s great success stories over the past decade. At the heart of this threshold of unprecedented growth and prosperity, the Africa Development Educators (ADE) Program by ACCOSCA continues to receive international recognition for its steadfast commitment to professionalizing and fuelling new, innovative ways to strengthen the cooperative movement in Africa. Since July 2014, ADE has been igniting change as a conduit for bringing financial inclusion to marginalized communities in Africa. The upcoming 2024 SACCA Congress in October marks the 10th Anniversary of this transformative Training. It has been a decade of opportunities for change and transformation, a decade of Paving the way for Africa’s Prosperous Future, and a decade of changing the continent, one member at a time. In the last 7 days, cooperators from 12 countries in Africa and beyond, joined the global DE Network after an immersive experience in the Cooperative Business Model. With 2025 being declared as the International Year of Cooperatives, the ADE graduates had a lifetime moment to unpack how they can play a role in supporting the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals. Join us in congratulating the ADE Class of August - 2024 for “Trusting the Process”! #PeopleHelpingPeople || www.accosca.org ||
