Eight years ago, Randy was experiencing homelessness after an injury at work led to addiction and the loss of his home. He found himself living in a crowded shelter, feeling hopeless. But one chance encounter changed everything. With support from Aeon and Simpson Housing Services, Randy found a home and a path to recovery. Residents at our youth properties receive 24-hour on- site support services from Aeon staff. In addition, residents receive case management services through our partnership with the YMCA Youth and Family Services. At each youth property, two case managers support residents, from making rent payments to finding GED programs. For young people who have experienced the trauma of homelessness, this support makes all the difference. To our partners at the Y – we are so grateful for you!

Aeon’s youth properties provide a safe, stable environment for young people like Z (left) to grow. These buildings, located in downtown Minneapolis, are dedicated to housing youth aged 16-21 who have experienced traumas including homelessness. In 2005, Aeon renovated St. Barnabas, a former hospital in downtown Minneapolis, to create 39 units of affordable housing. St. Barnabas provides 24-hour on-site support services, including case management, referrals and other services to assist youth in achieving their employment, education and self-sufficiency goals. Aeon’s youth housing has been recognized with several awards, including a Met Life Foundation National Excellence in Affordable Housing Award.

Emerie, our incredible receptionist, goes above and beyond every day to support our residents when they need it most.
