Innovation is the key to tackling the greatest challenges of our time. If we can harness our combined creativity and technological advancements, we can build a better future and create lasting positive change FOR ALL for generations to come. I was honored to join a room full of Charlotte’s greatest innovators this week at Charlotte Business Journal’s #Power100 2024 celebration. Power 100 Innovators is about all of Charlotte, about the people who are blazing new trails. We were joined by leaders from technology to finance to software development to AI innovation to university research. I dedicated this recognition to my entire innovation & new ventures team and to the fearless leaders across Advocate Health. I was delighted to talk about the growing innovation partnership ecosystem we’re building across Advocate Health and highlighted too the opening of The Pearl CLT next year, which will be home to the second campus of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and to the North American headquarters of IRCAD in IRCAD North America. The Pearl will be a place synonymous with #innovation – where researchers, startups, investors and entrepreneurs will come together and bring new technologies, new discoveries and new therapies to market faster. World-class innovation will literally be in our backyard. I would also like to congratulate Brandi Newman, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, senior vice president, community and social impact strategic operations – Advocate Health, who was also named to this distinguished list. Other tremendous leaders recognized included legends such as Sharon L. Gaber Tom Gabbard Seemantini Godbole Lynn Good Amy Aussieker Kari Kalgren and basketball legend Michael Jordan. 24 Advocate Health hospitals have been named to U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals for Maternity Care” list. In addition, six hospitals were classified as “Maternity Care Access Hospitals,” which provide critical maternity services to communities that might otherwise have inadequate access to maternity care.
