BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Advanced Air Mobility Institute is thrilled to announce an agreement with the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) for the revival of the #Pulitzer Trophy Race in October 2025, marking the 100th anniversary of the last running in 1925. The original race series was designed to achieve #publicacceptance for #aviation itself. Now, a century later, the AAM Institute, with the blessing of the NAA, will re-launch the Pulitzer Trophy annual race series in the hopes of similarly achieving public acceptance for #AdvancedAirMobility. "The National Aeronautic Association is thrilled to see the revival of air racing and energized to see this race highlight the future of aviation," said Amy (Spowart) Marino, President and CEO, NAA. "Witnessing history being made and providing the award to celebrate the winner of the competition will energize the next generation of aviation legends." Our Founder, Dan Grande Sloat, JD/MBA MRAeS, explained, "our intent is to celebrate the beautiful diversity of design among all forms of electric aircraft. We welcome #eCTOL, #eSTOL, and #eVTOL alike. Ultimately, this is a speed race for the chance to have your name added to the list of heroic pilots honored with the legendary Pulitzer Trophy at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution in #WashingtonDC." Race Director, retired US Air Force Colonel Scott Neumann said, "We have designed the first Pulitzer Electric Aircraft Race in a way to honor the legacy of the original races from a century ago and at the same time to highlight the amazing potential of this new form of air transportation as it emerges - this race bears witness to the beginning of the electric age of flight." Colonel Neumann and his team will ensure a safe, fair, and exciting race for all participants. Moreover, Gloria Bouillon, A.A.E., ACE, Community Integration Ambassador, will foster a friendly and educational environment that the whole community can enjoy and partake in. Visit www.pulitzertrophy.com for more information about the race. To submit a bid as host city for this historic event, inquire about sponsorship opportunities, offer to volunteer, or express interest to compete, please contact pulitzer@aaminstitute.org

At the AAM Institute we have been advocating for #publicsafety use cases of #AAM technology since our founding: Not only because it drives objective good for society, but also because it makes more economic sense at scale and paves the way for widespread #publicacceptance We’re very proud of partners like Jump Aero Incorporated and Akute Networks (utilizing Pivotal) who are leading the industry in this critical use case among #eVTOL OEMs—
By 2019, I had come to the conclusion that the market for eVTOL air taxis was over-hyped – the revenue potential for operators was likely to be throttled by a combination of higher-than-expected costs and community push back in the form of landing fees and operating restrictions – that would eventually trickle back to the OEMs. And there were already plenty of good OEMs going after the urban air mobility market. I did not want to be another company “pushing” the utility of eVTOLs for UAM on communities. Instead, I sought out a better use of eVTOL technology that would be embraced by communities: emergency first response. The upside of that decision is that the emergency response use case is being embraced by communities. We have market research data and MOUs to confirm it. It is also becoming more widely accepted that the range limitations of batteries don’t matter for this mission because the response time of relevance is less than 10 minutes. In fact, being all-electric is an operational advantage – an all-electric aircraft can deploy faster than a conventionally fueled aircraft. There is an even better market-technology fit for eVTOLs in emergency first response than in urban air mobility. The downside is that this use case is not widely recognized and/or understood – it is sometimes seen as a charity use case when this is far from reality. In fact, this EMS use case has far more profit potential for our customers than any other aircraft use of which I am aware. We went into detail in our whitepaper downloadable here: https://lnkd.in/gNkeemkm The punchline is that the market research indicates that 55% of rural Americans value our proposed eVTOL EMS service at over $1/day per person and the estimated cost of providing the service is $0.07/day per person. That’s a ridiculously large potential operating margin -- and a strong sign that there is a $10+bn/year domestic market opportunity -- more than large enough to justify the creation of a new aircraft. I expect to see increased competition in this sector now that our whitepaper is out. That will be very good for Jump Aero Incorporated. We have a 5+year head start, and we are active in the committees writing the standards that will be used for compliance with the applicable FAA rules. No company has more expertise in the business around this eVTOL first response use case than Jump Aero. This is why we are genuinely positive that Volocopter and Pivotal are taking this use-case seriously. Both companies may be able to deploy aircraft in the field before Jump Aero to start saving lives. This would be fantastic. In the end, saving lives is what this is all about. Eventually, operating economics will drive adoption of our platform because unlike these other aircraft, the JA1 Pulse was designed specifically for this mission. It is fun to know something that the world hasn’t internalized yet. It will be more fun to see how it all evolves in the coming years! #aam #evtol

Our Research Council member, Captain Fahad, sharing insights on recent flight safety incident.
Faculty / Researcher / Fighter Pilot - Advanced Air Mobility / Airport / Aviation / Urban Air Mobility / eVTOL
I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and the aircraft in this incident. Before the updated information hinting at a possible shoot down of Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 in the Ukraine-Russia conflict zone, I had speculated on various scenarios based on limited OSINT available an hour after the accident. As this story continues to unfold, we eagerly await the Preliminary report from the relevant Civil Aviation Authorities to shed more light on the situation. Let's see what new insights emerge from their findings. #aircrash #aviation Modern College of Business and Science #MCBSOman #qs #ranking #mcbslife #Education #OmanHigherEducation Advanced Air Mobility Institute #humanfactor #humanerror #crash #J28243 #TRT #TRTworld Embraer TRT Discover how MCBS can shape your future: www.mcbs.edu.om
