Today, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs released a funding opportunity for supportive services for veteran families grants. Last week, ACL coordinated a convening of Hawaii’s aging and disability grantees. The convening was part of an HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response recovery mission to learn more about recovery efforts following the Maui wildfire. The grantees, including the Hawaii Executive Office on Aging, Maui County Office on Aging, Hawaii Statewide Independent Living Council, and Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii, shared insight regarding their emergency recovery experience and long-term recovery needs. Thank you to the Hawaii aging and disability network for your thoughtful reflections and time with ACL’s Administration on Aging and Administration on Disabilities.
