Marvell Technology’s Five-Year Announcement with Amazon Web Services (AWS)’s #AWS Showcases Increased Partnerships Between Suppliers and Hyperscalers - Alan Weckel weighs in! Great partnership for continued innovation as demand remains high. As we look towards 2025, we expect the market to see more collaboration between semiconductor companies and the large Hyperscalers. We also expect some of the T2 #Cloud providers to potentially adopt a collaborative approach as they look to differentiate their cloud offerings Marvell and AWS Is A Supply Chain Win for Everybody Closer collaboration will reduce the time-to-market and help ease supply chain issues of scaling in several ways. First, semiconductor companies that have better visibility and do multiple chip designs can leverage expertise to improve yield through the #FAB and leverage the FAB relationships. Second, given Hyperscalers’ buy in the 100K-1M+ range, the ability to get #wafers, final assembly, and leverage IP across designs simplifies many things in the supply chain. Scale is a win for both the customer and the supplier. Second, long-term partnerships help drive better roadmap decisions. Third, using this announcement as an example, many parts of the chip design will be pre-validated in earlier #ASICs. The AI ASIC #SERDES can be leveraged in the DSPs, AECs, re-timers, and switch ASICs. Find the blog link in the comments!

Congratulations to Aviz Networks, Vishal Shukla of San Jose on its $17m Series A announced early today. Per Alan Weckel "Aviz Networks Series A funding is a testament to their strong position in the market and the potential of their technology. Their efforts in #AI-enabled networking focus on the high-growth part of the data center market. We expect AI-enabled networking to be the majority of an over $50B market by the end of the decade." Aviz full stack technology adopted by data centers, GPU builders, cloud builders, and global retailers is underpinned by the #SONIC OS. https://lnkd.in/g86y9HuX

  • #Istanbul Mobile Broadband Forum (#MBBF) The central themes of last week’s Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF) in Istanbul were that Huawei made a big deal about #5.5G and #AI. More specifically, Huawei’s radio team pointed out that its recently improved cellular uplink capabilities will be critical as AI, robots, and automobiles create a surge in cellular traffic demand for uploads. Its FDD team has developed its “M-receiver” M-#MIMO uplink radios using eight simultaneous streams to increase device support and range. The TDD radio team is now introducing mmWave products, given that the market for mmWave spectrum is being introduced in China. Additionally, Huawei's radio and core teams showed significant improvements to their AI-based “smart” capabilities to decrease power usage, improve troubleshooting, reduce human intervention, and optimize user experiences. We left this conference with the impression that Huawei is developing significant new #RAN technology while embracing adjacent markets, like robotics, to drive new opportunities. • Deep Observability Market Exceeds $200M in 1H24, On Pace to Approach $500M for Full-Year 2024   The last few months of the Observability market have been dominated by Cisco closing its acquisition of Splunk and incorporating Splunk into its broad Cisco networking and security portfolios. In doing so, Cisco is reprioritizing the security and observability components of Splunk, which will drive an absorption period in the Observability market before it returns to growth. Company acquisitions and the absorption of enterprise networking equipment from the pandemic surge caused 1H24 Observability results to come in below forecast projections. However, there is still robust demand, so we see the absorption as a temporary slowdown in the markets, not a change in the overall growth and importance of the technology. Progress report: The Deep Observability Market thrived in 1H24. Gigamon remains the largest vendor in this segment. For 2024, we expect the market to grow over 30 percent Y/Y and approach $500M. Additionally, we expect the Deep Observability Market to grow at over a 30 percent CAGR and approach $2B by 2029. The Deep Observability Market is on track to outpace the overall Observability Market growth in 2024. Read the full blog here! https://lnkd.in/gadp7yib

  • Marvell Technology Showcases Meta #FBNIC at #OCP2024 Marvell and Meta announced the co-development of the FBNIC, a custom 5nm NIC #ASIC built to optimize the performance of its infrastructure for general purpose servers. Marvell contributed the board design to the Open Compute Project Foundation community. This announcement was significant for the #NIC ecosystem of suppliers, and it changed how Meta thinks about the server-to-switch boundary. NIC Market Set to Surge As the industry deploys back-end AI networks and core counts on #CPUs rapidly push above 100/chip, NICs revenue, and ports will grow significantly over the next several years. NIC innovation, like the FBNIC, will be critical for the market to grow. At a market level, it is essential to note that many NIC innovations from the #Hyperscalers make their way into the broader T2 Cloud and Enterprise markets. The OCP nature of the FBNIC gives it a clear path for others to benefit from the innovation. Here at 650 Group, we are really excited to see the FBNIC ramp in production.
