Say hello to 'Get Trained!' 3PC Cambodia, in collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, with support from Friends-International, TVET and Damnok Toek, and through funding from the European Union, Caritas Suisse and Credit Suisse is delighted to announce the launch of a website and accompanying video aimed at providing easy online access for youth and others to a ‘Directory of Vocational Training Providers and Employment Services’ and their locations. The website is available in both Khmer and English, and in the accompanying instructional video Sambath shows how anyone can quickly and very readily access the many features available on the site! In Cambodia, Ms. Khat Sreyno and Mr. Sen Seny, child protection officers from Friends-International facilitated a training-workshop on the procedures and practical implementation of child protection systems within their respective contexts. The event gathered 16 child protection officers from 11 different organizations. The goal of this training-workshop was to strengthen the child protection system within the 3PC network. Kudos to the facilitators and organizers of the training-workshop and to the participants.

It’s the time of year for most of our programs to focus on the registration and reintegration of children into school. This has been a key part of our work for much of the 30 Years of Friends- International. Our programs aim to reintegrate over 6,000 children to school. They will do this through registration drives taking place directly in communities and promoted on social media, through providing information on the documentation needed for registration, and supporting families to get the necessary documents. They provide school supplies, such as uniforms and books, student transport such as bicycles, and of course crucial to all this is ensuring that families can keep their children in school. So, we provide training and resources for families in things like small business start-up, or training for employment for youth. This year, we estimate the shortfall in our education drive costs to be around $50,000. This is absolutely essential work, work that breaks many of the cycles that lead to continuing poverty, but with your help we can ensure that thousands of children can get the education that is their right, and will go on to build better futures for themselves and their families. 3PC Outreach Specialist Group in Cambodia, including partner organizations: M’Lop Tapang, Damnok Toek Organization, Kaliyan Mith - Siem Reap & Poipet, Aziza's Place, Krousar Thmey Foundation, Children's Future International, Free To Shine, Mith Samlanh, Komar Rikreay Association - KMR, Friends-International, Cambodian Children's Trust, gathered online to share best practices, challenges and solutions for the people we work with to have better access to the respective services we offer. Part of the agenda was a session on best practices in photography & videography, facilitated by Friends-International. This workshop tackled best practices in the use of photos and videos for reports to donors and for social media use.

As one of the key facilitating partners in 3PC International, Friends has organized two 'Training of Trainers' sessions for 3PC International partners in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, on the topic of Financial education. Debt is a serious issue for many families to overcome, and the range of resources developed for partners to advise families on better managing their finances to alleviate the issue will bring benefits to both urban and provincial communities. Session one was held this week over two full days in Phnom Penh at F3, session 2 will be next week in Siem Reap. (ChildSafe Movement Agents are trained agents of protection and support who operate within their own community areas, providing additional child protection and family support when neeed.)

Heng Mey Chou, Professor of Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education, and Mss. Chim Thida, Facilitator of Sevea company Co.LTD , co-organized a workshop with Friends-International organization to understand the context of climate change trends. Through the use of an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) game on the use of sequencing the causes of social, environmental and economic impacts at F3 (Friends Futures Factory) office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a total of eight participating organizations of the 3PC partners , there are Samatapheap Khnom, M'Lop Tapang, PEPY Empowering Youth, Voice Cambodia, Mith Samlanh, Aziza's Place, ISF Cambodia, Friends International to combat #climatechange.

In 3PC Cambodia, the ChildSafe 24-hour Hotline Specialist Group to came together to share their experiences in responding to and intervening in cases which come through ChildSafe Hotline. Cases include reports on children, youth, and families who are experiencing abuse and exploitation, and various forms of accidents. This specialist group aims find new mechanisms in responding to incoming calls in a timely and appropriate manner. #PartnershipProgramfortheProtectionofChildren (#3PC)
