One thing I have found useful is to look at the meetings and decide prior to the start which ones you really need to attend and which ones you can delegate. Bring proactive and intentional about how you spend your time is important. It's setting boundaries in place and allowing you to focus on what you need to do as well as allow others to step up and develop leadership skills. Our role as leaders is to create new leaders. Creating better leaders who also practice mindfulness, empathy, kindness and care about people. These leaders create a safe space for their team to show up and be their best selves. They are able to bring their best self to work. Creating an environment where everyone can thrive reflects well on you as a leader.

The only and best form of being mindful in such a situation is having the knowledge if it is necessary. We often schedule and conduct meetings to achieve the feeling of being productive and moving the ball forward, but what really happens repetition and sharing of the same information that actually could be done on an email. Practicing discrimination and discernment through your schedule and calendar is being mindful of the work and value you add.

I have never experienced anything like that. From my direct experience with practicing mindfulness and working with clients. 1. I would not choose to put myself in such situations. 2. I would pay attention to my feelings. 3." Stuck " sounds to me like a fixed mindset. From this type of mindset I would doubt that I would be able to capitalize on clients best interests. 4. Solgiering on, toughening is not a practice that I would promote. It is a sign of a toxic culture. 5. I would take walks and make myself as relaxed and spacious as possible. 6. If I feel signs of being overwhelmed I would cancel the rest of the calls. 7. Mindfulness is not a practice that can be used against self care.

I’ve actually not responded to these before. I appreciate the thought put forward by others and hope I can contribute from my experience. Short breaks, active listening, and boundaries are all structural parts. I would like to add that a foundation of purpose and/or meaning functions much like an anchor. While this may be obvious to others, knowing our “why” and its impact is much like a rudder. It directs us to remain steady in micro movements towards an overall direction.

Another way to allow you to stay mindful and focussed is to prepare as much as you can in advance of the meetings so that you can go in confidently without feeling the additional pressure of 'winging it'!
